"Can't say how the days will unfold, can't change what the future may hold, but I want you in it, every hour, every minute

"Can't say how the days will unfold, can't change what the future may hold, but I want you in it, every hour, every minute."

He had been preparing for this moment for as long as he could remember.

When his aunt May first gave him the ring his uncle Ben gave her, he had been mentally preparing for the big moment since then.

But when she told him to give it to Mary Jane, even then he felt like even then it was never really hers.

Instead, he saved it and kept it in his sock drawer knowing she wouldn't even look in there- Mary Jane having a thing about socks.

And it wasn't like he didn't love Mary Jane because he did, with all his heart but it was just when he looked at the ring he always saw someone else wearing it.

Davina.

Since they were finally together once again, Peter found himself not keeping it hidden but rather carrying it with him everywhere, preparing himself for what was going to happen for a while now.

It took a lot of planning but Peter knew it'd all be worth it.

Because if things went his way, by the end of the night he could start calling Davina his fiancé rather than his girlfriend.

He knew this was a big step and considering they hadn't technically been in a relationship for that long- their engagement would be considered soon, so that definitely made him more nervous. But still, he knew they were ready for that big step, no matter how soon others may think it was.

They may have only been dating for almost two years but Peter thought if you counted before then that would be longer. And if you counted how long he's had feelings for her, well that'd be a lifetime.

So he was confident in his decision, his first stop being the cemetery.

Peter knew Davina would want that, Peter asking her parents for their blessing.

They may not have been able to physically answer but he felt like he'd know- like Davina always went on about there being signs and fate.

So he asked them.

He spoke to them briefly about how much he loved their daughter, thanking them for raising her into the woman he fell in love with and finally asked for their blessing to marry their daughter.

Once he did ask that, he set their favorite flowers down like him and Davina had been doing for months before leaving.

But he didn't exactly leave the cemetery and instead went to another grave: Matt's.
