chapter 37 - tour of a hometown

"first stop--our highschool" I said as we pulled into the parking lot of our old highschool. Andrea and I were in front, we were the chauffeurs today. we got out and since AnnaLynne was asleep I made jc push her in a stroller.

"now obviously we can't go in. but we can tell you stuff about it as we walked around the outside" andrea said.

"now, we have two cafeterias. one inside and one outside. all the cool kids sat outside. including me." I said.

"me... not so much. but I still got to sit out there because I got out there early enough and always sat with kodie." Andrea said.

we walked up to our outside Cafeteria. I sat down at the table in the middle.

"This was where I and 4 other preps sat. oh and andrea." I said laughing. jc and kian laughed along.

"Yeah Yeah we get it, I was a nerd." She said. "the only reason kodie was popular was because of adam"

"It's true. he was a basketball player. and freshman year I had the biggest crush on him so I became a cheerleader. then we started dating" I said.

"Andrea, adam, one of his friends, a preppy cheerleader, and I all sat here. the crazy bitch was my 'friend' in highschool. little did I know she was just trying to steal adam from me" I said.

"Yeah I hated her. she's the one that kissed adam." Andrea said.

kian and jc listened intensely.

kian smiled slyly. "what?" I asked. "Oh nothing just imagining you in a cheer outfit" he said.

"gross" andrea said. I hit him on the shoulder. and looked at jc who was smiling and nodding. "stop!!" I said to him. "Hey only I'm allowed to!" kian said.

"Okay moving on" andrea said getting up.

"this is where kodie bitch slapped that hoe after she found out she kissed adam" andrea said laughing.

"ohh yeah. this is also where andrea had to pull me away from the same girl because I was about to fight her." We all laughed and started walking.

we got to some woods.

"These woods are super tiny. through these are big memories. let's go." I said.

we walked through the little amount of woods and reached a field.

"This is 'the field' no one ever made up a cool name for it over all these years so it kinda just stuck. everything happens here. this is where most people had their firsts. first boyfriend's, first kiss, first love, sometimes even first sex" I laughed. "neither of us though, luckily. I did have my first kiss tho" I said.

"Same" Andrea said.

"We had bonfires and parties and sometimes people would set up a big inflatable tv thing and we'd watch movies. this place was so fun back then. hopefully the people that go to highschool still live it up." I said.

"It was great. so many memories, good and bad. lots of people passing out and throwing up, but it was funny to watch" andrea said.

we sat in the field for about 15 minutes talking about funny things that had happened there.

"next place, by the way there's not many places on out list. but anyway; next place--the junior club."Andrea said.

"it sounds dumb, but this is a club for underage people. you have to be 16 to enter and you can't be over 18, so everyone in town always got so excited on their sixteenth birthday. it was pretty much just another place where us highschoolers could hang out. everyone would get drunk before they came or bring the booze, so it was pretty much like we were at a normal club."

"our third place is---mem sushi. aka the best sushi in town " I said.

we had lunch and talked about our favorite things to get from there. and how pretty much all date nights in town were there.

"drop jc and I off at the quarry and we'll get a uber home, so you can show kian the last tour stop." Andrea said.

so I did.

you can't really drive to the abandoned buildng because there's a little walkway to it, and because it's not the same if you do. so I drove home. I gave nick Annalynee.

"the last stop is your house?" kian said.

"No we have to walk to it silly" I said.

we started walking to the building. we didn't really talk the whole time.

we finally got there and I started climbing up the ladder. "Come on" I said

we got to the top and I did the usual routine of getting the blanket out and laying it down.

it was about 7:00pm and the sun usually sat at 7:30.

"This is the last stop on the tour--Kasey's place." I said.

"who's kasey?"He said looking at me.

"My aunt. she was my mom's little sister. when I was about 6 she was my favorite person in the whole world. we did everything together. she told me about the things she's done and warned me about guys and parties. she was used by so many guys. I don't understand it though because she was so perfect. she got in a car wreck when she was 18 and instantly died. she was so close to being home. but I texted her off my mom's phone and asked her to get me some candy from the store. I killed her kian it was all my fault." I was balling my eyes out now.

"Hey. Hey. you listen to me. she did not die because of you. she died because some idiot hit her." He said.

"Yeah but she wouldn't of gotten hit if I didn't text her. she wouldn't of been anywhere near that road" I said.

"Kodie, you can't dwell on what could've been. but I know that she did not die because of you. she died loving you. and nothing or no one can change that. baby it wasn't your fault." He was holding me, wiping away my tears.

the sun started to set.

"Don't stop b-believing. hold on to the feeling" I tried screaming but I couldn't. I just whispered it, and sniffled every now and then. "Im sorry, it was her favorite song"

"streetlights, peopleeeeee" he sang back.

I looked up at him and smiled.

"Im so happy I found my other half." I said.

he kissed me and didn't stop. I layed down, and he got on top of me deepening the kiss. he kissed my neck sensually.

"Im glad I found you." He said.
