I wake up to the morning light peeking through the curtains that weren't completely shut. I turn around to hug Maxon, but he's not there. I look at the clock. It's 8.
I sit up and look around but he's not there.
"Maxon?" I say.
There's no response so I get up and go to the princess suite. Marlee is sitting on my bed playing cards with Lucy.
"Good morning," I say to get their attention.
"Morning," they said in unison.
"Can you help me get ready?" I ask.
They get up. Marlee gets a light blue dress that goes to the floor and Lucy turns on the curler.
They get me dressed and do my hair and makeup. It's all simple, natural makeup and some curls.
Right before I walk out Marlee grabs my arm. I look at her.
"So? Any baby news yet?" she asks teasingly.
"No. He did say we can try though," I respond.
"Yay!" She squeals.
A guard rushes in.
"We're fine," I say, and he leaves.
"Do you know where Maxon is?" I ask.
"He went to the patio with your guests," Lucy tells me.
"Oh ok, thanks," I say then leave.

I walk out onto the patio and see Maxon talking to Daphne and her parents. Daphne is sitting very close to Maxon and leaning forward a bit. She's wearing a dress that seems to tight around her chest. Kai is sitting away from everyone with a journal.
I go over to Maxon and sit to the left of him.
"Good morning," I say to them.
"Oh you look so pretty as always America," the queen gushes.
"Thank you," I say with a smile.
Maxon takes my hand and kisses it.
"She's right, you're lovely as always my dear," he compliments.
I smile at him then looks at Daphne who's giving me a death glare. I look away.
"How long have you two been married?" the queen asks.
"Almost 4 months," Maxon proudly states.
"And are you going to have children?" the king asks.
"Hopefully soon," I say.
"You will have the most adorable children," the queen says.
"How kind," Maxon says. I can tell he's a bit embarrassed.
Maids bring out tea and cookies.
We talk a little about kids and the castle until the king asks to speak to Maxon privately. Oh gosh. That's either bad or good. Let's hope for the latter.
Once they leave the queen excuses herself to her son, leaving Daphne and I alone. I look at her. She's looking at a cookie.
"Are you enjoying your time here Daphne?" I ask.
"Yes. Especially the time I spend with Maxon. I appreciate it, unlike you," she says, looking at me smugly.
"I'm sorry?"
"Maxon was supposed to marry me, not some poor girl he pitted."
My jaw drops.
"I love Maxon, and he loves me. So back off. And if you tell him I said anything or did anything, you'll regret it," she threatens.
The queen comes back over and Daphne smiles.
Wow. This isn't good.
