"No Eadlyn," I say strictly, taking the pink butterfly costume from her.
"Please mommy. I really want to wear it."
"No. It's Christmas, not Halloween. You already wore this to the Halloween ball. We need to make a new pretty dress for Christmas."
She pouts. I pinch her cheek.
"Don't!"
I smile and let go, putting the dress back in the kids closet.
Ahren's sitting on the bed coloring.
"What color do you want your dress?" I ask Eadlyn.
"I want the pink butterfly."
"No. That's not Christmassy. You need to wear blue, green, red, or even white."
"No."
"Yes. If you don't pick I will."
She sits on the ground with her arms crossed.
"Eadlyn. I'm not doing with with you," I warn.
She just stays there pouting.
"Fine. You can stay here until you're ready to behave. Come on Ahren."
He grabs his coloring book and crayons and follows me out.
We go to the living room where Maxon's already working. I send a maid to get my work.
Ahren sits on the floor and works on his letters.
"Where's Eadlyn?" Maxon asks.
"Their room," I reply.
"Why?"
"She's not wanting to listen."
He sighs.
"I'll go talk to her," he says, putting his stuff aside
"No. She needs to just stay there."
"Hon. It's ok. I'll just go talk to her real quick."
"Fine. She's stressing me out."
"I know. She'll learn."
"Thanks Maxon."
"I love you, my dear."
"I love you too. We're a great us."
"We're a wonderful us."
I smile.
The maid comes back and gives me my work.
Maxon goes to talk to Eadlyn and I work.
I was mostly trying to get over the frustration I was going through with Eadlyn.
Ahren comes over and asks me about the R. I draw it and he practices it. He sneezes for the fifth time then sniffles.
"Are you ok?" I ask.
He nods and keeps working.
Maxon brings Eadlyn in a little later.
I glance at them then look back to my work.
They both come over to me.
"Mommy," Eadlyn says.
I look at her.
"Yes?"
"I'm sorry," she says, sounding sad.
"It's alright honey. You need to listen from now on though."
"I promise I will mommy."
She hugs me. I hug her back and pull her onto my lap. Maxon sits down and smiles at me while I hold Eadlyn.
I kiss her forehead and sit her down. She goes over and works next to Ahren.
We all work until the maid brings in our lunch. We're having sandwiches, fruits, Italian donuts, and water.
We all eat. I notice Ahren is barely eating. He's mostly playing with his food.
"Are you ok honey?" I ask Ahren, touching his arm.
He nods and eats more of his fruit.
Once we're done we all get back go work.
The kids are taking a break and are watching tv.
Ahren comes over to me.
"I don't feel good mommy," he says, sounding tired.
I look at him and realize how pale he is.
"Oh honey."
I pick him up and put him on my lap.
I feel his forehead.
"Maxon, he's burning up."
Maxon looks over right as Ahren throws up.
