"We're going go miss you guys," Heidi tells me.
She gives me a tight hug.
I hug her back.
"We'll miss you too," I reply.
She looks at me.
"Are you sure you don't want to stay a little longer?" she asks hopefully.
"I am," I assure her.
"Well...ok."
"I'm sorry. We just really need to get home. But we'll come visit again some time soon, I promise."
"That sounds very good to me."
I smile at her.
She smiles back.
Chris and Maxon shake hands while Heidi and I exchange another hug.
"Don't be afraid to send emails or letters to me. I would enjoy it," I say to her.
"I'll have to remember that," she says back.
I move back and smile at her.
The guard comes over and grabs my bag.
"Call us when you get home. And be safe," Heidi orders.
"Will do," Maxon answers.
I hug Chris who's holding the baby, then we head to the car.
Maxon lets me in first.
We wave out the window of the car as the driver pulls the car out of the driveway, me leaning over Maxon.
They wave back.
We get on the main road and I sit back in my seat.
It doesn't take long for us to get to the airport and onto the plane.
The stewardess helps us get situated in our private area with our drinks then gives us our privacy.
The plane takes off not much later.
After I watch through the window as the plane takes off, I look at Maxon a bit sad.
"What?" Maxon questions.
"I'm going to miss them," I admit.
"Me too. But it's time to go home."
"I know. I just wish we had close friends like them at home."
"I wish that too."
I hug him from the side.
He puts his arm around me and leans his head on top of mine.
"We get to see the kids," he reminds me.
I smile a bit and keep hugging him.
"I bet they'll be excited that we're home once we get there," Maxon guesses.
"Probably," I agree.
He takes my hand in his.
We sit there in silence for awhile, just holding each other. I watch as Maxon rubs his thumb in circles on the back of my hand. His touch is so soothing and gentle. It's no wonder I fell in love with him.

We arrive at the palace at 4:30. The planned landed an hour ago. I napped most of the time on the plane. I talked to Heidi on the phone during the car ride.
The guards follow us inside with all of our bags except the one with the gifts in it. I have that one.
"Welcome back your highness'," a butler we've had working for us for a long time greets us with a bow.
"Thank you Richard. We're glad to be back," Maxon replies.
"The kids are in their room," he informs us.
"Alright. Thank you."
"Of course your majesty."
I smile at him, then Maxon and I head to the kids room.
As soon as we get to the door we can hear them giggling.
Maxon and I smile at each other then knock.
The maid opens the door for us and curtsies.
We first see the twins playing on the floor, then we see Kaden sitting by the bed with his blankie and a dragon hat on. Kaden's sucking on his thumb. Ahren has a wooden sword that his grandma got him for Christmas. Eadlyn has her plastic purple crown on.
"Don't worry Eadlyn. The dragon can't get you over here," Ahren assures her.
"But what if he tries to get me?" Eadlyn dramatically worries aloud.
"I won't let him princess. I will slay him before he can get you ," Ahren states with his sword high in the air.
Eadlyn grabs the sword from Ahren.
"I can slay the dragon myself," she insists.
"No. I want to."
Maxon clears his throat before they get into a fight.
They all look over.
"Mommy! Daddy!" Eadlyn yells.
The twins both run over and hug our legs.
Maxon picks up the twins. They giggle
Kaden gets up and runs over to me as quickly as his little legs can. He has his blankie in one hand and is reaching for me with the other.
I put the bag down and pick him up.
He hugs me and I hug him back.
"Mama," Kaden says in a hushed tone.
"Hi there baby."
He lays his head on my shoulder.
I smile.
"You were gone so long," Eadlyn complains.
"I know honey. We're sorry. But we had to," I tell her.
"It's ok mommy."
"Was it cool?" Ahren asks.
"So cool," Maxon answers.
Ahren grins.
"Can you bring us next time?" Eadlyn asks.
"Maybe. We'll see," I answer.
"I don't want you to go away for so long again," she pouts.
"I'm sorry Eadlyn. But sometimes mommy and daddy have to go do some work so we have to go away for awhile," I try to explain to her.
"It's fine," Ahren breaks in. "We knew you'd come back."
"Of course we'd come back. We'll never ever leave you," I promise them.
"Did you think we wouldn't?" Maxon asks.
"A little," Eadlyn admits.
"I didn't!" Ahren calls out.
"Why would you think that Eadlyn?" Maxon questions.
She shrugs.
"Well it's ok. Just know we love you and will always be there," Maxon tell her.
She nods.
"Now, who's hungry?" I ask.
"Me!" the twins shout at the same time.
Maxon and I laugh.
"Let's get to dinner then."
Maxon puts the twins down and we walk to the dining room together. The twins questions about the trip echo down the hall as we make our way down to have our first dinner together in awhile.

"Go sit on the bed," I order all of them.
"Why?" Ahren asks.
"No questions. Sit."
They all sit as I grab the bag from by the door.
"What's that?" Ahren questions.
"What did I say?" I remind him.
"No questions," he pouts.
"Exactly. So zip."
He sticks his tongue out.
I smile and go through the bag.
"We got you a few souvenirs while we were on our trip," I inform them.
"What's that?" Eadlyn asks.
"It's like gifts."
"Awesome!" Ahren yells excitedly.
"Eadlyn gets hers first," I say.
"Aww."
"Ladies first."
I take out the paper fan and hand it to her.
She opens it and looks at it. She doesn't say anything, which makes me nervous.
"Do you like it?" I ask.
"Yeah. It's really pretty," she finally says.
I smile.
I pull out the pack with the wooden truck, tractor, and car. I hand it to Ahren who got excited the moment he saw it.
"Awesome!" he excitedly shouts.
"Do I get one?" Kaden asks.
"Of course sweetie. Here," I reply while holding out his puzzle.
He takes it and smiles at it.
"Mama! It's a puzzle!" he giggles.
"It is. Do you like it?" I question with a smile.
"Mhmm."
"Well I'm glad."
He keeps looking at it.
"You each get one more thing," I say. "Who wants the first one?"
Ahren immediately raises his hand high.
I smile and take out the paper dragon.
"Wow!" he reacts.
I hand it to him.
I get out Jax's tiger and give it to him.
He looks at it for a minute then looks back to his puzzle.
I pull out the last thing, Eadlyn's panda stuffed animal.
Her face lights up when she sees it.
I hold it out to her.
She squeals and hugs it.
"Cute isn't it?"
She nods.
"Thank you mommy," she appreciates.
"Thank you!" Ahren yells.
"You're welcome, but you're dad got them for you too."
"Thank you daddy," Eadlyn adds.
"Thanks," Ahren says.
"You're welcome," Maxon replies.
"Now who wants to go watch a movie?" I ask.
The twins raise their hands.
I smile.
"Let's go then," I say.
The twins go out with Maxon. Eadlyn brings her panda and Ahren brings his dragon.
I pick up Kaden who brings his blankie.
We all go to the theatre room.
Maxon and I pick out the snacks while the guard sets up the movie.
We're having popcorn, mint chocolate candies, and crackers.
We sit with the kids and watch the movie.
I hold Kaden who falls asleep pretty quickly.
The twins are between Maxon and I.
By the end of the movie the kids are all asleep.
Maxon and I look at each other and smile.
It's good to be home.
