"Can we do my lesson now mom?" Eadlyn asks.
"Sure sweetie. Go grab your violin and book," I tell her.
She runs out.
I'm sitting in the floor in front of the coffee table with Kaden coloring. Ahren's on the couch behind us watching the movie I put in.
Eadlyn brings back her violin and book. I help her set everything up.
"Make sure it's tuned," I tell her.
"I am," she replies.
"Keep coloring mommy," Kaden says.
"I'm helping your sister sweetie."
"Aww."
"How about you color for me?"
"Ok!"
He keeps coloring. I smile.
Maxon comes in with his work. He has his laptop and a folder.
One of the things Maxon and I worked hard on once we were given the throne was getting technology back throughout the country.
Maxon and I have private laptops and there are a few rich screen computers in the library. We also have a newer tv in the living area. Computers and tv's are starting to be sold again in bigger cities.
Maxon sits by me and kisses my cheek.
"Hello love," he says while setting his stuff up.
"Hey Maxon," I reply.
"Sorry I couldn't come earlier."
"It's fine. It's only two. We'll send the evening together."
"I'm going to have to go to my office at some point."
"That's ok. We'll spend time together now then."
"Sounds good. How are you feeling?"
"Maxon. I already told you, I feel perfectly fine."
"Just want to make sure."
Eadlyn comes over.
"It's tuned," she says.
I check it.
"Good. Now go look over your scales for a bit then play the first three,"I instruct.
She nods and goes over to her book and stand.
"Mommy look!" Kaden yells while holding up a drawing of our family.
"I love it," I tell him.
"It's for you."
"Why thank you. But there's one thing missing."
"There is?"
"Yeah. Your new little sibling."
Eadlyn and Ahren look at us. Maxon smiles.
"Huh?" Kaden asks confused.
"You're going to have a little brother or sister soon," I say.
"Really?!" Eadlyn asks excitedly.
A guard comes in to check on the yelling then goes back out.
"Really," Maxon says.
"Cool!" Ahren yells.
I smile.
"So I'll be a big brother like Ahren?" Kaden wonders.
"Exactly," I answer.
He smiles.
I kiss his forehead.
He giggles.
"Can you color with me now?" he asks
"I guess," I reply.
"Can I color too?" Eadlyn asks.
"Sure. You should go over your scales later though."
"Alright, I will."
She comes over and sits by me.
I give her a piece of paper and some colored pencils.
"Dad?" Ahren gets his attention.
"Yes?"
"Can I help you work?"
"Uh, sure. Here."
Maxon hands him a piece of notebook paper and a map.
"Can you write down every city you see on this map?"
"Sure."
"Thanks bud."
I smile at them then continue coloring."Well, the kids seem happy about the baby," Maxon says, sitting at his desk in his office.
"That's a good thing. I was a bit worried," I reply.
"Why?"
"Kaden's never really had to deal with younger kids. I don't want him to feel bad about it."
"He won't. It's fine dear. All three of them were very excited."
"You're sure?"
"Positive."
"Alright," I sigh.
"Relax."
"I'm relaxed, I'm relaxed."
"Be more relaxed then."
I roll my eyes.
"I'm going to the living area with the kids," I tell him.
"Alright."
"Join us if you can."
"I will."
I kiss him then get the kids.
We all go to the living area.
The maid sets up a board game for us and leaves tea with cookies.
We start playing.
"Mommy," Kaden says.
"Yeah sweetie?"
"We're going to have a baby brother right?"
"Or sister."
"I hope it's a brother."
"You do?"
"Yeah. Brothers are cooler."
"Hey!" Eadlyn complains.
"That's not nice Kaden," I tell him.
"Sorry," he says.
"It's ok."
"Where's the baby?"
"It's in my tummy."
"It is?" he asks, shocked.
"Yeah."
"Did you eat it?"
I laugh.
"No sweetie."
"Then how did it get there?"
Uh oh. That's not a question I wanted to hear.
"Well....go ask your dad."
"Ok."
He gets up and runs out.
Good luck Maxon."You're evil," Maxon says as soon as I walk into the prince's suite.
"Sorry. I needed to relax."
He gives me a look. I laugh.
"You're lucky I love you," he says.
"I love you too."
I change into my night gown. Maxon's already in his night outfit.
I lay down with my book. He comes over after a bit and lays with me.
I put my book down and he hugs me close. He kisses my neck. I smile.
"Goodnight Maxon."
He kisses me a bit more then says, "Good night darling."
"Love you."
"Love you too."
