My Dear

"Stop!" I squeal.
"No," Maxon replies, poking my side again.
I've been extra ticklish ever since I got pregnant and Maxon's taken notice.
I giggle as we walk hand in hand in the garden.
"You're adorable," he says.
"No I'm not," I reply.
"You are, my dear."
"Don't even start."
"Why not, my dear."
"Stop," I groan.
"But you're my dear, and the dearest at that."
I smile at him. He smiles back and kisses me. We stop and I kiss him harder. I wrap my arms around his neck as his arms slip around my waist.
"Mommy!"
We both pull apart as both of our almost four year olds run toward us. I pull my fur coat closed and kneel down for Eadlyn to hug me. Once she does I pick her up.
Christmas is in a week, and I can't wait.
"We finished our lesson mommy," Ahren says.
"That's great sweetie. You guys hungry?"
"Yeah," Ahren replies.
"Me too. Let's go get some dinner," I reply.
Maxon picks up Ahren and we go inside.

Both Ahren and Eadlyn talked non-stop about their school lessons. They're young so it's mostly just them being read to, learning words, letters, and numbers, and lots of breaks.
Marlee is teaching them with Kile. She's 9 months pregnant, with an unknown gender, so she doesn't move around a whole lot. A maid is always there to assist her as she works with them.
I sit on the bed and rub the side of my stomach.
"I feel bad for Marlee," I say.
"Why is that?" Maxon asks.
"She's nine months pregnant and dealing with three screaming children all day. It must be so hard."
"At least she enjoys it. She has to stop in three days when she goes on bed rest anyway."
"That's true. I'm glad the kids are enjoying it."
"Yeah that's good. I was worried they would complain about it."
"Now they won't shut up about it."
I laugh lightly.
He comes over to me and holds my hands.
"I love you," he says, looking into my eyes.
"I love you too."
He bends over and kisses me. I kiss him back, enjoying the warm feeling that floods through me every time he kisses me with his perfect lips.
He sits in front of me and I hug him. He hugs me back.
"Thank you Maxon."
"Huh?"
He pulls away and looks at me.
"I said thank you."
"For what?"
"Everything."
"America. You don't have to thank me for anything."
"I do. You make me so happy."
I look at him with teary eyes.
"Don't cry my dear."
"I can't help it."
I hug him again and he holds me.
"I'm so happy Maxon."
"I'm glad."
"Are you happy?"
"I couldn't be happier. I don't need all the food or clothes or the title. I'll be happy as long as I have my America in my arms."
I kiss him hard, starting off our very joyful night.
