"I'm hungry," I complain.
"Just give me a few more minutes," Maxon says, frustration in his voice.
I woke up twenty minutes ago and he's still working. I need food!
I read more from my book then ask, "how much longer?"
"America. Please."
I huff and pretend to read, while I'm trying not to cry. He's being mean.
After about twenty minutes he comes over and sits on the bed next to me. I don't look away from the book.
"What do you want for breakfast?"
"Nothing," I say.
"Don't lie. You know you're hungry, and so do I."
I don't say anything so he asks, "are you ok?"
I nod. He hugs me and I drop the book, hugging him back. "Did I upset you?"
I nod. He starts rubbing my back while hugging me.
"I'm sorry honey. I haven't been doing my work and I need to get it done."
"It's ok."
"I love you."
"I love you too."
He pulls away and pecks my lips.
"Now, what do you want for breakfast?"
"What's my choices?"
"Whatever you want."
I consider this.
"Hmmm. Eggs, bacon, sausage, waffles, a crepe, toast, yogurt, and a muffin. Oh and don't forget the peanut butter, syrup, butter, and grape juice."
He just stares at me.
After a minute he says, "Seriously?"
I nod.
"Alright I guess."
He writes everything down then gets up.
I look at my book and realize I lost my place. I immediately start crying.
"America?" Maxon says concerned.
He sits in front of me and cups my cheek with his hand. I sniffle and look at him.
"What's wrong?"
"My book," I reply.
He looks at it then to me.
"What about it?" he asks.
He takes my hand and rubs circles on the back of mine.
"I lost my place," I mumble.
"Oh."
He sighs quietly and grabs the book.
"How about you look for your place while I grab you're breakfast?"
"Alright."
He wipes my face then kisses my cheek. I smile a bit at his gorgeous smile.
He leaves and I look through my book, finding my place easily. He comes back with a maid. They both had a tray full of food.
"Thanks Maxon."
"Anything for you my dear."
I smile. They put the trays on the bed and I start eating.
Maxon sits next to me and works as I eat.

"This is so boring," I complain.
"I know. But it's almost over," Marlee says, hugging Kile.
I look over at Maxon who's talking to Sylvia and the event coordinator. Sylvia's doing most of the talking of course.
He looks at me and smiles. I smile back. He tugs his ear. I tug mine back.
I can't help but give a goofy grin and laugh lightly.
"What are you doing?" Marlee asks confused.
"Nothing," I laugh.
Sylvia says something that snaps Maxon's attention back to them.
I laugh even harder.
Maxon comes over not much later.
"You got me in trouble," he blames.
"You started it."
Marlee takes Kile to the bathroom.
"Did not," he says.
"Did too."
"You're the gorgeous one who took my breath away."
"Oh stop."
"Nope."
"Then I'll never tug my ear back again."
"Then who would I tug my ear with?"
"Don't tug your ear with anyone else. That's mine."
"A lot of things are yours, America."
We both smile at the memory.
He bends over and kisses me. I kiss him back. My Maxon. My love.
