The kids sit on chairs next to me with Maxon standing behind them while I lay on the medical bed. The doctors getting everything ready.
"So do you want a brother or sister?" Maxon asks Eadlyn and Ahren.
"Sister!" Eadlyn yells.
"Alright, and how about you Ahren?" I ask.
"I want a brother," he says shyly.
"But we'll love it either way right?" Maxon asks them.
They both nod and I smile.
"Everything's set up," the doctor says. "Are you ready?"
"Very," I reply.
The gel is cold on my stomach as the doctor rubs it on.
We wait anxiously as she does the ultrasound.
"It's a very healthy baby boy," she says.
The kids squeal then hug.
Maxon and I smile at each other.
"Thank you so much," I say.
"My pleasure," she replies.

"Are you happy it's a boy?" I ask.
"Yeah. I'm just excited for another baby," Maxon replies.
"Me too. We finally have a tie breaker."
"The kids seem really excited."
"I know. I'm happy. I was a little worried they'd be upset if it wasn't the gender they wanted."
"They'll love him. I know that for sure."
"Of course."
I smile at him.
"We should go down to the party soon," Maxon says.
"Ugh. Even I don't want to go," I complain.
"But we need to. It's for our little twins."
"I know. I'm just tired."
"Are you feeling ok?"
He looks at me worried.
"I'm fine Maxon. Seriously."
"Alright."
I get up and go over to him, standing in front of the full length mirror.
"I love you so much Maxon."
"I love you too."
"You make me so happy."
"You make me so happy too. I can't believe I almost didn't pick you. I almost made the biggest mistake of my entire life."
"But you didn't."
"No. I didn't."
"So there's no need to worry about it. Cause I'll always be there for you to love you and for us to be happy together. You're my husband and my family. I couldn't ask for anything more."
He smiles and kisses me. I kiss him back.
"You're my one. My only one," he says.
"And I always will be."
He takes my hand and we go down to the party, celebrating our two beautiful children. Celebrating our life, their life. Celebrating us and our little tie breaker.

"Who wants chocolate?" Maxon asks
"Me!" Eadlyn and Ahren yell at the same time.
He smiles and gets them both a slice.
"How about you my dear?" he asks me.
"I'm good for now."
"Alright."
The party finally ended at ten, and it's ten thirty now. We're having a small private party then we're off to bed. I could use that.
Maxon grabs a piece of vanilla cake, that I can't help but steal bits off of, and sits with me.
After cake the kids open their gifts from us. It's mostly toys and fabric.
They end up dozing off, and we carry them to bed. After, we go to bed ourselves.
