"What happened," Maxon whispers harshly.
"A guard rebelled sir," someone replies.
I recognize the voice. It's the guard that carried me here, and the one negotiating with the men who tried to take me.
"How was he even in our system if he was that dangerous?"
"It was very unexpected sir."
I open my eyes and look at them.
Maxon growls with frustration.
"Maxon," I say.
He looks at me then rushes over.
"America. Are you alright? How are you feeling?"
"I'm fine Maxon. My head hurts a bit but that's all," I assure.
"Are you sure?"
"Positive."
"I'm so glad you're alright."
I look at him.
"Tell me everything that happened," he says.
"I was walking around looking for you and I went into the jewel room. I saw a man bagging stuff and then this other man hit me over the head. I woke up a bit later and they were trying to take me and everything from the room with them. A guard stopped him. The one who was bagging the stuff when I walked in tried to stop him but someone shot him. The one took me out to the vehicle and hit me over the head at the gate," I explain.
Maxon looks at the guard.
"Where is he?" Maxon asks seriously.
"We are tracking him sir," the guard replies.
"You just let him get away?"
"We didn't have a choice sir. It was the only way to ensure the queens safety."
"I want whoever did this to my wife!"
"Maxon, calm down," I say, putting my hand on his.
He looks at me. He sighs.
"Get him as quickly as you can," Maxon says, his voice lower.
The guard nods and leaves.
"It's alright Maxon."
"I isn't."
"It is."
"You got hurt because I couldn't protect you."
"It's not your fault. Your safety is so much more important than mine."
"Lies. I would give my life for you any day."
"I wish you wouldn't. I'd rather you live."
He pulls my hand up to his lips and kisses it.
"I love you America. You're my everything."
"I love you too."
"I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to upset you."
"I'm sorry too."
We sit there for a bit, holding hands.
"What time is it?" I ask.
"About eleven."
"It's that late?"
"Sadly, yeah."
I get up. Maxon gets up with me.
"Lets go to bed," I say.
"I want to do something first," Maxon says, grabbing my butt.
"Maxon!"
He laughs.
I push him on the chest, smiling.
He picks me how bridal style and carried me to put room. When we get there he kicks the door closed and sits me down. He kisses me. I kiss him back and wraps my arms around his neck.
He moves back and looks at me.
I put my hand on his cheek.
"I love you so much," I whisper.
"I love you so much too," he replies, smiling.
"I'm so happy I got to be your wife. I couldn't be happier."
"I'm glad you're glad."
"You're a blessing of a man Maxon."
"And you're perfect darling."
I kiss him hard, earning a kiss back.
"Maxon," I say against his lips.
"Yeah," he says between kisses.
I move back and look at him. He looks at me.
"Let's have another baby."
He watches me for a minute.
"You want another baby?" he asks.
"Yeah."
"Oh."
"You don't?"
"No I do."
"Then what's with the reaction?"
"Just shocked that's all."
I frown.
"Stop it."
"Stop what."
"Frowning. I don't like it. Your smile is so much prettier."
I stick my tongue out.
He tickles me and I laugh.
"Stop!"
The guard from outside out door rushes in.
Maxon stops.
"We're fine," Maxon tells him.
He bows then goes back to his post.
"Ha," I say.
He picks me up and carries me to the bed.
