CHAPTER 1
Kathryn's POV
"Ma! You cant do this to me! You know I will have a hard time adjusting there!"
Ano ba yan! Ang aga-aga, sakit na sa bangs ang sumalubong sakin.
"Kath, anak, I've already made my decision." she said while making her coffee.
"But you know Ma, ang tagal ko na sa school ko ngayon tapos ililipat mo nalang ako basta basta sa school na wala akong ka ide-idea kung anong meron don. Even the name of the school, hindi ko alam .." Sabi ko na parang batang nagmamaktol.
What have come to my mom's mind and she'd like to transfer me to another school!
"Okay you'll transfer in FPU, Ford Padilla University. It's one of the most popular universities in the Philippines and they're starting to make noise around the world."
And so what?
"But why Ma? I dont really need it besides kapagod kaya mag-adjust. And besides, I live here in New York and transferring to another school, diyan sa F, what is it again? FUP right?" My mom chuckled.
"FPU anak, not FUP." Humalakhak pa si Mama. Since when naging ganito kababaw ang tawa ni Mama?
"Tss whatever. As if I care about the school."
"FPU anak, I am letting you transfer to a great school. Based on a research, 9 out of 10 students want to go and in FPU. Hindi basta bastang school to, this is prominent university."
And since when did my mom started to this trivia whatever? Is she some sort of a Kuya Kim? I laugh at that thought.
But still, transferring to another school gets me frustrated.
"I dont care about the ratio of students who wanted to study for that Ford Padilla University. Jusko! Just by merely hearing its name, kinikilabutan na ako."
"Anak please?" Her voice was firm like she really wanted to take this.
"Ma wala akong friends don." I found another excuse but really, boring naman talaga if you'll not get friends.
"Oh about that, I've already talked to Julia's mom just this morning and I asked her if she wanted to transfer Julia to another school this school year because I transferring you and she said yes. She even told me tha your bestfriend got super excited about FPU. See? You already got a friend. Now, take this, anak." My mom reasoned out. I can really sense that she wants to take this.
"Huh? Bakit naman maeexcite si Bes don?" Si Julia, maexxcite lumipat nang school? Eh nasa present school namin ngayon ang crush niya. Hahaha!
"See? Even Julia wants to be sent there. This isnt really a bad offer, ang ganda ng school na yan." Dinaig pa ata ng mama ko ang mga endorsers ko makapromote sa school na yon.
"It's still a no, Ma." Ayoko talaga!
"Ayaw mo?" May pagbabanta ng tono sa boses ni Mama.
"Ayoko po talaga, Ma." pagmamatigas ko sabay kagat sa isang wheat bread na nasa mesa.
"Pwes! I already did everything to make you say yes with the school pero nagmamatigas ka. Inaayos ko ang usapang ito, I got you priveleges and benefits but you left me with no choice. You'll study in FPU and adjust or say no to this, then say goodbye to your Bruno Mars' album collection." There's finality in my mom's tone, like she really gonna do it.
