Part 16

I wake up my head on Joe's chest he is hugging me and one of his hands is on my head, as if he was stroking my hair before he slept. I wriggle out of his grasp and sit on the bed. Diana must have already woken up because the bed is empty. I hewrbsomeone downstairs and I can't hear the shower so I get up for one.

At breakfast we decide today we are gonna go back to the mall. When we arrive, we go back to Serenity. It turns out everyone heard about my kidnapping, it was in the newspapers and on tv. When we get to Serenity the waitress says, "You are the kid who got kidnapped aren't you? Well, its a great thing that you came here after something so bad happened here. Tell you what, seeing as your friends we're with you, I'll arrange for you to get your meal free!" It appears I'm famous now.

After a calm meal in Serenity, we go for a wander and shop. Surprisingly Joe doesn't mind. He kinda like it. Sounds like I'm stereotyping him. Forget this paragraph.

I still struggle to walk so I mostly lean on Joe and Diana, but sometimes, Carrie gave me a ride. My body is mostly healed from burning but I am still weak from having my energy drained for a month and a half. My vampire says it will be a month at least before I am fully healed.

When we get back, I find myself surrounded by bags. Everywhere we went, people gave us stuff, no matter what shop we went I'm, we got everything we wanted free. Wow. Maybe I should get kidnapped more often. The bad thing is, everyone nows my secret. Everyone, even people I have never seen before, know I am a vampire. That is one thing I hoped would never happen. At least I am not lying dead on the bottom of a cell. Anything is better than being back there.

Finally I am back at school. I do not feel great, because everyone keeps staring at me as if I am new here. I feel like I like I am new here. Everyone, even the teachers have a bit of an oh-its-you look on their faces. I would say people we're pleased to see me but what would be a complete lie.
