Stairs lazily creaked as two pairs of shoes rushed up them, hastily making their way to the top floor.
Suddenly, the steps shivered, then began to move haphazardly, and a excited gasp could be heard from one of the students.
The floor they had intended to reach was gradually getting away from them, and Albus looked at Scorpius, silently making their decision.
With an assertive nod, he grabbed his friend's hand, and began sprinting, his feet pounding against the wood.
As they jumped across the gap that had once connected the floor and the stairs, Time froze.
Their robes were flying out behind them, and their hands were still entwined.
Then, Time sped up again, and the pair collapsed on the floor in a giggling heap.
Scorpius' joyous laughter bubbled out of him, and Albus watched with a slight smile as his friend's eyes crinkled.
They didn't move from that spot for quite a long time, just lying there, chests heaving with hysterics.
Although the pair never noticed, their hands were still joined, their fingers wrapped around each other.
