Truth and Lies

"Order for Shaun?" I was nearly froze to death when I saw the person who was about to give the order to us. I took a fearful step aback and about to lose my balance. Good thing, Shaun was still holding my hand. "And to Ms. Kim, I presumed?"

"W-what are you doing in here?" I gather all my strength to ask him a question. Hindi ko makapaniwala na nandito siya sa harapan ko. Isang tingin ko lang sa kanya, nahihirapan akong huminga, na para bang sinasakal ako. Isang tingin ko lang sa kanya, nanghihina ang mga tuhod ko na para bang hindi na ako makakatayo pa. Lahat ng alaala na dapat ko na sanang ibaon sa limot ay tila bang bumalik ng isang iglap at para ba akong binuhusan ng malamig na tubig sa ulo.

"About to eat my breakfast?" He grinned sheepishly and I took another step backward. I felt the coldness in his voice, that made me shiver in fear. "What a coincidence, you guys are here, together." He made an emphasis of the word together.

"Cut the crap, Thaddeus. Don't play so nice dude. Get out of our lives." Shaun mocked. "Are those tears Saab shed aren't enough for you to see? You heartless bastard!"

"Call me whatever you want, Shaun. I don't care. No one cares. You're just good with flattery. Don't worry, dude. I will get out of your life as soon as possible but not to my wife."

"You're calling her your wife? Ha! After all you did to her? Pathetic." He hissed. "You're such a pathetic person."

"Shaun, 'wag mo na siya ng patulan please. We, guys are creating a scene here." Mariin kong hawak sa kamay ni Shaun.

"Let us be, Saab." Thaddeus mumbled. "At least, the world knows that he kidnapped you and bring you here to Canada without any permission. Right?"

"Let me correct that." Sabat ko kay Thaddeus at sinipatan ko siya. "For your information, Mr. Avana, I went on my own. Ako ang pumunta kay Shaun; ako yung kusang pumasok sa bahay niya. So please, habang maaga pa, tigil-tigilan mo na ako at si Shaun. You can't bring me back the way you wanted to be. Tinapos ko na ang lahat ng tungkol sa'tin bago pa ako pumunta dito. Tigilan mo na ako, Thad. Please lang, ayoko na ng gulo. Tama na, Thad. Ayoko nang madawit pa sa inyo. At isa pa, 'wag mo nang kapalan ang mukha mo na ipagsigawan mo sa mundo na magiging asawa mo ako dahil hinding-hindi mangyayari iyon."

"Then tell me, sabihin mo sa harap ng mga tao na hindi mo na ako mahal."

I smirked. Akala niya hindi ko yun magagawa sa harapan niya. Kung kaya niya akong lokohin harap-harapan, kaya ko rin. "I don't love you anymore."

"Lies!" He cursed.

I leaned to Shaun and wrapped my arms around his nape and before he could react, I kissed him deeply. I know he won't respond but I continue to kiss him, going harder and deeper. I don't care about anyone whose looking at us confused. I don't care about the gossips of our fellow filipinos whose in line waiting and working around the corner. All I want is to push Thaddeus away from me. Far away from me. I will make him go back to his home.

I glared at him and asked, "satisfied of what you saw?" I know Shaun was still in shock of my outrageous actions. He was just looking at me, speechless. I know, I'm being manipulative but what can I do? I have to be firm with my words. I have to make him believe that I don't love him anymore.
