Hiiiiiii, yes, it is me. If I were you, I'd go back to the chapter before to jog memory. Also, please be sure to read the author's note at the end.

(James' Point of View)

In some weird way, I manage to get out from under Vena without waking her. Although, I think that she was pretty tired herself. I get dressed and take another pill, seeing how that dumbass headache came back.

I grab my jacket off the chair and kneel by Vena as she sleeps on the couch. I put my hand on her bare shoulder and graze my hand across her back.

"Vena, darling," I try to wake her.

She doesn't make any sign of waking up.

I shake her a bit and she just lays there like someone knocked her out or something.

There is only one other way I can think of to wake her up. I reach under the covers until my hands reach her naked stomach. I tickle her and she groans. "Fuck you," she mumbles.

I laugh. "Babe, I'm going to the coffee shop, do you want anything?" I ask her.

She turns around and rubs her eyes for a second before looking at me and nodding. "Yes, coffee, maybe some cookies, or some muffins, just get me whatever, but don't forget about the coffee."

She looks at me sternly.

Note to self: Don't wake up Vena unless necessary.

She turns onto her back, putting her arm over her eyes, blocking out all light. I stand up, lean down and kiss the side of her neck. She moves her arm at the contact and looks at me. She puts her hand on the back of my neck and pulls me to her, kissing me.

I sort of fall on top of her. I brace myself from all my weight falling on her, but I don't think she cares.

She pulls away and looks at me. "Go get my coffee, please."

I smile and stand up. "Okay, I'll see you in a bit."

I grab my keys and wallet off the stand and put my coat on.

"I love you," I hear her say.

I smile to myself. "I love you too, baby," I tell her.

I open the door and set out for the coffee shop, but not without locking the door first. The last thing I want is someone just breaking in again. Especially since my girlfriend is hardly wearing any clothes.

When I get to the coffee shop, my eyes catch a familiar face.

Of course, I didn't go to Grant's coffee shop, one a few blocks over. I can't risk being seen, not right now anyways.

As I step into the coffee shop, I already feel stress heavy in my chest.

I clear my throat and sit down in the chair across from her.

"What is it?" I ask.

She glances at Kamer and then at me. "Where were you yesterday?" she asks, her voice lifeless.

"Out. Why does it matter?' I ask her.

Autumn chuckles. "You disappearing last night was quite alarming."

I furrow my eyebrows at the thought. "Why would you think that?" I ask her.

"With this contact, you are linked to me now and if someone is to know that, then for all I could have known, you could've already been dead."
