"Don't be ridiculous, it's four in the morning. Are you aware that we were in a car accident a day ago? No, you you're not. No, because my wellbeing is irrelevant to you and the only thing that matters to you is that I'm alive," James pauses.

Five minutes ago, James's phone rang and when he woke up, he wacked me with his cast and now I'm pretty sure I have a nasty bruise on my shin.

I'm sure that when he answered the call, he was expecting for it to go on for not very long, but of course, this is Autumn. It's going to be long drawn out, dramatic and quite frankly, irrelevant.

Just like her.

Could this not have waited until tomorrow? It's always the middle of the night when she calls. She thinks she's sly, but she is so not.

I wish she would just leave us alone.

"Whatever, fine, I'll be there tomorrow, but Vena is coming with me."

Wait, what the hell?

"Bye," I hear him say. He sets his phone back down on the bedside table and moves closer to me.

I'm not going to ask him about it right now because then he really will know that I was eaves dropping on his conversation.

It doesn't take much for me to fall back asleep.

The sound of a pan or pot falling to the floor wakes me up instantly.

I sit up and James groans form beside me. "I'm going to take a wild guess here and say that one of those idiots are attempting to cook."

I chuckle and lay back down.

I look at James and smile at him as his eyes are closed. I reach over and run my fingers through the front of his hair.

He opens his eyes and stares back at me for a moment. He clears his throat and sits up on his elbows. "I've got to talk to you about something," he admits.

I raise an eyebrow at him. I'm just going to guess that this is about last night. "Yes?"

He nods, "Yes, well, I know that you really don't like her, but we have to meet Autumn today."

Well, I guess I better ask any questions I want to know now. "What? Why?" I ask.

"You don't necessarily need to be there, but I can't drive and you know that it is still hard for me to get around."

I nod, "Fine, but you have to ask Grayson if we can borrow his truck."

I chuckles, "Yeah, I don't think that is going to be a problem considering what we did for him last night."

I shrug, "How long is it going to be?" I ask. Honestly, spending time with Autumn is the last place I'd like to be. She is so terrible that I feel like just being around her ruins my mood and makes me just want to punch her.

I look at James and raise an eyebrow at him.

"I don't know, Vena, she didn't say much about it, just that she wanted to meet, but I wanted you to be there with me."

I furrow my eyebrows at him. Now, that doesn't make much sense. I'm sure he's talked to her many times before this by himself.

"Why? you've done this by yourself before."

He sighs and sits up all the way, "Because, Ven, I need help and plus you have a nasty attitude."

I chuckle at him. Now, that is true. Although, Autumn deserves all the damn attitude in the world.
