The warm sun against my cheeks is what wakes me up. I am careful to open up my eyes in case the sun decides that it wants to be mean to me and shine in my God damned eyes. I groan and try to hide my face in the pillow. I hear a laugh from the other side of the bed.

I roll onto my side with my good shoulder and James is sitting there reading some book with his coffee sitting beside the bed. How did I not wake up when got out of bed? How did I not notice?

"What time is it?" I ask.

James looks at his wrist, "A little bit after ten."

My eyebrows furrow, "Your parents are awake aren't they, why are we cooped up here?" I wonder out loud to him.

He smiles, "Because you're a sleepy girl and if you want to sleep in, then I'm going to let you."

I sit up and stretch my arms out. "What are we doing today?" I ask.

He shrugs, "I'm not too sure, I heard them talking about doing something when I went down there this morning, but I didn't catch enough to really have any idea."

"I should get up. I'm holding everyone up."

He scoffs, "Ven, do I look ready for the day here either?"

I look at him and he is still in his usual sleeping attire, which isn't much, just saying. His hair is also still quite messy.

"I guess not, but still, I feel like I'm holding up your parents."

"Yeah, well, so am I."

I lean my head on his shoulder and I feel him kiss the side of my head, "Do you need to use the shower?" he asks me.

I shake my head, "No, I showered before we left yesterday."

He nods, "Well, I need to and it always takes me so long with this stupid thing on, so I should probably get in there."

He sets his book down on the nightstand and pulls the blanket off his legs. He reaches, grabbing his crutches and stands up and starts for the bathroom.

"If you need help, just yell for me." I tell him before he shuts the door. He says okay and shuts the door.

I sigh and pull the blankets off my legs. I wish I could just stay in bed all day. I would be okay with that. I really don't feel like socializing today, but I mean, I guess this is James's family, so I better show my face around here.

I lock the bedroom door so that nobody by accident just walks in on my changing because that has happened before and I would very much prefer for that not to happen again, thank you very much.

I did everything that I could without the mirror and a sink. Getting dressed sure is getting easier on the bright side of all this, although I really am getting tired of only being able to sleep in one position.

By the time that both James and I are ready for the day, it was getting close to lunchtime. I really hope his parents don't get angry that I wasted half of their day.

James and I make our ways downstairs slowly but surely.

As soon as we made it down the stairs, it's like I was hit with this wave of good smelling food. I could definitely get used to this. I mean, of course James's food smells good, but this food brings whole new level of a good smelling aura.

"Hello, you two. Would you like some lunch? You missed breakfast, but lunch is just about done." James's mother asks, not looking away from whatever she is chopping. I smile at the sight. Beside her, James's father is standing there tossing something around on a pan.
