I knew coming here was a bad idea. Perhaps James was right about Grant needing to let loose after losing his girlfriend, whom he loved so much. But, is this really the way to do it? On the icy roof on his house, not even caring if he falls? At least to me, that doesn't sound very healthy. Grant's words are full of pain and hollowing exasperation. He stares back at me through the window as the wind blows past him and at me. "Grant, please, just come back inside!" Creana yells, pleading from behind me. Grant's eyes shift from me to her for a moment. It's only for a brief second, but I see his hesitation. He must be trying to prove some sort of point here and if he is, then he sure as Hell is doing it in a ridiculous way.

I pull my body up over the ledge and sit on the roof right outside the window. "Vena," Ryder warns.

I look back and see his looking at me sternly. "I'm fine."

"If you fall or something right after that accident you had, you do realize your injuries are going to be much worse than you think," Ryder's eyes are full of worry as he talks to me like I don't know what I'm doing. "On top of that, if James finds out that I let you do this, he will physically kill me, it doesn't matter how injured he is, he will."

I shake my head at him. "Ryder, I'm going to be fine. I'm just going to sit right here," I tell him in a hushed tone so that Grant doesn't hear me.

He nods and steps away from the window. Anxiety courses through me as I see Grant looking over the edge of the roof, looking down. "Grant," I say, my voice soft. The last thing I need is to startle him and him falling.

He looks back at me.

I pat the spot beside me, but he just stares back at me, not only is it cold out here, but the icy look coming back from Grant is even more chilling. I stare back at him, pulling my sweater closer to my body. If I don't get Grant into the house, he's going to get a frostbite for only wearing a tee shirt is this weather.

I turn and look back at Ryder and he leans in to listen to me. "Pass me a blanket and go find a sweater for him, please." I tell him and he quickly passes me a blanket and leaves the room with Creana to go find a sweater.

I hold up the blanket and something sparks in Grant's eyes. "You must be cold, no, you must be freezing," I offer.

He crosses his arms over his chest, his stubbornness shining through. "I'm fine," he lies.

I shake my head, "You're a fucking liar."

He sighs and walks over to me, which surprises me more than you would believe. I thought it would take a lot more to get him over here, but I guess, he really is freezing. He sits down beside me and I pass him the blanket. He wraps in around his shoulders, pulling it tight against his body. Beside me, I hear his teeth chattering. He really should go inside, I'm not even that sure how long he's been out here before I got here. "I'm not going inside," he answers my thoughts.

I sigh, "What are you trying to prove here?" I look at him.

He shrugs, "I'm just tired of having to listen to everyone."

I crinkle my eyebrows at his statement. "What are you talking about? You never listen to anyone, you ignore everyone, you are your own person." His explanation doesn't make any sense whatsoever. For as long as I've known Grant, he's always done what he wants when he wants to. He's part of the Johnson Clan, they're crazy. They do what they want, they're carefree. Although, right now, Grant seems weak, like he's lost all control of himself. Perhaps he has, but that he has to eventually get back to his old self, right?
