Quiet as a Graveyard

What seemed like I was driving for hours I came across the RV with Rick sitting on top of it. I honk the horn a couple times and step on the gas as I open the car door and roll out of the car. The car keeps going as the Walkers seem to get distracted by it. Rick gets down from the RV.

"What are you doing here?" Rick says as we jog to Alexandria.

"Heard the gunshots. I knew you were in trouble. The others are still following the plan." I breath out.

"Yeah, the W's were there. I took them out. Could be what is at Alexandria now."

"Could be. Where is Jay?" I ask him.

"She split up with me. She is with Glenn and Michonne." I try to steady my breathing but it was all the running and anxiety making it harder to breath.

Target.

"They are gonna be ok." Rick says as the walkers were on our tail.

"We gotta keep moving." I say. We finally get to Alexandria as Rick yells for them to open the gates. They finally do and shut them suddenly.

"Michonne." I call for her. She walks over and hugs me as I hug back.

"Where is Jay at?"

"She stayed with Glenn and Nicholas. They are out there some where." I nod my head.

"The others?" She asked.

"Daryl and them are still following the plan." The people stare at the walls hearing the walkers moan and pound on the wall.

"You can hear it. Some of you saw it.
They got back here, half of them.
Still enough to surround us 20 deep.
Look, I know you're scared.
You haven't seen anything like this.
You haven't been through anything like this. But we're safe for now.
The panel the truck hit seems intact.
We reinforced it just in case.
Either way, the wall's gonna hold together. Can you? The others, they're gonna be back." Rick walks up to us and looks at everyone.

"They're gonna be back." Rosita repeats.

"Daryl, Abraham, Sasha, they have vehicles. They're gonna lead 'em away, just like the others. And Glenn, Jay and Nicholas are gonna walk back through the front gate after. They know what they're doing, and we know what we need to do. We keep noise to a minimum. Pull our blinds at night. Even better, keep the lights out. We'll try to make this place as quiet as a graveyard, see if they move on." Rick tells everyone.

"This place is a graveyard." Construction woman says.

"The quarry broke open and those walkers were heading this way.
All of them. The plan that Rick put into place stopped that from happening. He got half of them away.
I was out there recruiting with Daryl.
I wanted to try to get into a cannery and scavenge, and Daryl wanted to keep looking for people. We did what I wanted and we wound up in a trap set by those people. And I lost my pack. They must've followed our tracks. Those people who attacked us they found their way back here because of me." Aidan spills the beans. I wouldnt put the blame on him. The whole advertising this place gave it away.

"There'll be more to talk about." Rick says.

"Deanna? Deanna?" She kept walking.

"Alright people lets start on that graveyard." Everyone separates into their own homes and try to be silent.

"I'm heading up in the clock tower. Holler if you need me." I tell Rick.

"Wait, it won't be able to stand if you are in it. Its already crumbling down."

"It can take my weight. Its the only view I can get from that side of Alexandria." I yell back.

"Here, take the walkie. You see something odd or the others, call for me." Rick throws a walkie to me and points on his belt that he had one. I nod my head and run to the armory.

I pull my backpack off and load up a couple of knives, ammo for the sniper and I grab onto a sniper. I head up to the tower. I stayed up there all night. I didn't sleep. I couldn't. Not until Daryl and Jay are back and alive. Morning hit and Rick walks up to the tower not taking a step in.

"Spencer is coming up to take your watch." Rick leans against the wall.

"I'm fine. We need to secure this place. Make sure everyone is keeping it quiet." I say.

"Harley you need to eat and sleep."

"I said I'm fine. I'm not doing a damn thing til Daryl and Jay get back here alive. I will stay here on duty til they get back. If you send someone up here, I will send them back down."

"Daryl said you are stubborn. I'll bring some food up for you. They will come back. They are strong and smart." Rick walks to the streets.

I shouldn't have left him. Rick can handle himself. Why did I let Jay come with us on this dry run anyway? Rick brought food up but I didn't eat. I wasn't hungry and wasn't going to force myself to eat. All I did was hold the sniper close to me and watch the woods. Hoping Jay and Daryl walk up to the gate so I can let them in. I could hear Rick and Tobin working on the wall against the tower. Trying to keep it from falling since it was already slightly leaning. The clock tower creaks here and there but it can stand my weight. I don't know how much longer it will last. Maggie understands what I'm going through. Hell, even Rosita does. Rosita doesn't show it but I can see it. No one's seen Glenn. Wherever Glenn is Jay's there. I hope. I saw something move out the corner of my eye. Spencer was going over the fence on a wire. I grab the walkie and hold the button down.

"Rick." I call for him.

"I see it." He response back.

Rick runs over to a post calling after Spencer. At another post Tara and Eugene start arguing back and forth and as Tara pulls out her gun and start shooting at the Walkers near Spencer. Eugene signals Rosita, Maggie and I to shoot our guns. I aim my sniper around the Walkers near Spencer. Shooting them down til Spencer climbs back up.

"Tara! You almost died once for these people." Rick yells at her.

"What?" Tara asked.

"What the hell were you doing?" Rick shouts at her as she flips him off. Goddamn people trying to play hero. I stop shooting and watch the woods again.

After awhile, in the distance the green balloons were floating in the sky. I know we tied them down good. Someone must have taken them off. Could be Jay and Glenn maybe Daryl or could be those W's.

"I got green balloons in the sky." I say over the walkie.

"We see them." Rick says as I look around the community. Everyone was watching them float. I get up and lean over the tower. Maybe there is hope. Then the creaking started. I could feel the tower moving. Shit.

"Harley get out of there!" Rick calls over the talkie. I couldn't get out.

"The only way for me to get out is to jump out of the window or stay in and ride out the crash. I'm not breaking my legs today." I look around for another exit but those are my only options.

"No. No. No. The walkers will topple over you. The walls will cave in." Rick says. I'm just gonna have to go with it. I sling my bag over my shoulder as the tower leans over the fence.

"Its too late! Get everyone in the houses." I shout back into the walkie. I grab the sniper and press it to the front of me as I lay flat on my stomach with the sniper in between me and the floor. I slide to the wall as tower hits the ground. My head hit the ground as the wall caves in on me.

"Harley! Harley!" I could hear Rick's screaming into the talkie that laid by my ear. I couldn't bring my self to move. I fell unconscious.
