"Asshole, are you there?" The woman radios us.

"I'm here." Rick pulls the talkie out.

"We've thought about it. We want to make the trade." Oh, now she gives up.

"That's good." Rick says.

"There's a large field with a sign that says "God is dead" about two miles down I-66. Good visibility in all directions." The woman says.

"We'll meet you there. 10 minutes?" Rick says look at me. I nod my head.

"10 minutes." She confirms. We continue walking. A van drove right by us as we duck down in the woods. Once the coast was clear I get back on the road and compare the tire tracks to the ones I was following. They were the same.

"We have to follow them. Same tracks." I take off running and keep a safe distance between us and the truck.

We get to a building as black smoke was coming out of it. Both trucks were empty. We open up the doors revealing Carol and Maggie. No Jay.

"Maggie." Glenn sighs as they hug.

"You okay? We got your trail. You start a fire?" Daryl asked Carol.

"Yeah." She breaths out.

Hey, you good?" Daryl asked Carol.

"No."

"Come here." Carol hugs Daryl.

"Where is she?" I asked looking around. I look at Carol and Maggie.

"Where is Jay?" I asked.

Harley I," Carol starts as I run further into the building.

"Jay?" I call out for her. Walkers bodies covered the floor.

"Jay!" I start yelling. I turn some corners around the building but no sign of her. At this point I was lost in the tunnels. I was turning around in circles looking for her.

"Jasmine!" I screamed. Other than the sound of walkers and our group there was another sound. A soft but strained voice coming from a room. Open the door but it was empty. There was another door. I open that one up and see Jay tied up with blood trickling out of her nose.

"Oh my god." I bend down and untie her, removing the cloth from her mouth. I pick her up and carry her to the group. Rick looks at me as the tears form in my eyes.

"She alright?" He asked. I nod my head. I walk over to Daryl and set Jay down against the wall. He pulls out his canteen and pours water on Jay. Her eyes opened wide as she gasped for air.

"Hey baby." I hold her head up. As her arms grasp down on mine. She coughs out and cries.

"Its ok. I got you. I got you." I try to fight back the tears. I pull the red cloth out of Daryl's back pocket and wipe the blood off of her.

"Harls?" Her voice quivered.

"I'm right here." My voice cracks.

"Daryl?" She cries. Daryl bends down and holds his hand up to her cheek. His thumb wipes the tears away.

"Right here." His voice held anger.

"They're dead. They're all dead, the ones that took us. They're all dead." Maggie says.

"Hey, are you okay?" Glenn asked.

"I just, I can't anymore." Maggie's eyes tear up.

"It's okay." Glenn hugs her.

"Your friends are dead. No one's coming for ya. So you might as well talk." Rick tells the guy.

"Let him burn." Daryl says. As I help Jay up from the ground.

"I'm gonna ask you one last time how'd you get the bike?" Rick asked.

"We found it." The guy looks down at the ground.

"Like hell you did." Daryl says.

"We found it." The guy repeats.

"Was Negan in that building last night or was he here?" Rick asked him.

"Both. I'm Negan, shithead." The guy smiles.

Kill him Rick." I grit my teeth. Daryl looks at me closely. He knows I've lost my shit now.

"Kill him." I stare the guy down. The guy smiles creepily.

"There's a whole world of fun that we can talk about, so let's have a chat." The guy says but before he got to finish Rick pulls out his gun.

"I'm sorry it had to come to this." Rick says and shoots him in the head.

"I'm not." I grit my teeth. Daryl picks up Jay as we head back to the vehicles. Everyone was quiet. They didn't speak. Jay stares up at the sky. I kept walking.

We get to the RV as Daryl place Jay in the chairs. Daryl gets on his bike. The ride home was quiet. No one spoke. I didn't want to talk. I wanted to get Jay check to help by Denise. I wanted to kill. I wanted to hurt the people who Once we got back to Alexandria, I rushed over to Denise. She said Jay was dehydrated and could have a concussion. Other than that she was fine. I took her back to the house and lay her down on the couch as I sat in the kitchen watching her. Daryl comes walking in as he sets his gun down on the table. He walked over and wraps his arms around me.

"I almost lost her." I say unemotionally.

"I know. We ain't going to let that happen." Daryl's voice grumbles.

"No we're not. I swear to God, if she steps one foot out of Alexandria again, she is not allowed to leave me within two inches." Daryl pulls away from me and kisses my lips. At first I didn't kiss back until I realize that I have become selfish. But I can be. She was my sister almost like my kid. But Jay was also like a daughter to Daryl. I kissing back and wrap my arms around him.

"I'm sorry." I whispered.

"Don't be. That's our Jaybird." He says.

After a while Jay was able to walk around and move. She said she was fine but I didn't believe her. I told her to keep a close distance between me and her. Daryl and I head outside as he checks out his bike. He goes through the pouch and pulls out a toy soldier.

"Where did that come from?" I asked.

"The guy who took this bike. It was his." Daryl says as he threw it on the ground.

"Didn't even notice. Got your bike back." Carol walks up to us and sits next to Daryl.

"Yeah. You got another one of those?" Daryl's voice grumbles as Carol pulls out the cigarettes and hands Daryl one. He lights it up and takes a drag out of it.

"Thanks." He says.

"Those people you met, the ones in the burnt forest, they took it from you?" Carol asked.

"Yeah." He says.

"You saved them, right? Sorry. It's who you are. We're still stuck with that." Carol sighs.

"No, we ain't. I should've killed them." Daryl looks at her. She thinks for a minute then gets up to walk away.

"Hey. The ones that took Jay, you and Maggie what'd they do to you?" Daryl asked.

"To us? They didn't do anything. They beat Jay because she fought back. They knew she was a fighter." Carol says then walks away.
