Hello everyone!!! The song above is for the gospel artist Eben titled "Idinma". Check out the lyrics at the end of the chapter.
By the time Lolita got a taxi home, Lorato's parents had called and pleaded with her to forgive and donate one of her kidneys.
"How can they expect you to do that? As your father, I say "no!" I cannot risk your life again when you just came back to us."
"This is hard." David said with a sigh and re-adjusted himself on the sofa.
"She's dying Lolita." He added softly.
"It is a miracle in disguise David." She replied sharply and threw her hands up in disbelief. "You all just don't understand! Even Ryan is pestering me about it!"
"My flight is scheduled for next Wednesday, I cannot delay any longer. I have to start my Masters program otherwise I might lose my scholarship."
"Don't you think this is a sign that you should not leave?"
"How can you say that Mum? What about the scholarship? You know I cannot remain here with all this craziness!"
"What about the court case that will ensue after Lorato wakes up?"
"My life must go on David! I need to put this behind me." With that she dropped the lunch box in the kitchen and went to her bedroom. God will provide a donor.
Tuesday 6th September, 2016.
The next day went by ever so slowly but no donor was found and Lorato's condition worsened. Ryan became anxious as he knew if Lorato dies, his fiancé would regret it for the rest of her life...she was that kind of person. He had tried calling the latter severally but she has been rejecting his calls and ignored his text and voice messages.
"Dr. Johnson, talk to her maybe she will change her mind."
"She has rejected my calls all day Director and I have been having surgeries back to back and don't have time to go see her."
"A few more hours and that young lady will lose her life." The older Caucasian Doctor told him with a pitiful expression on his face. "Whatever she might have done to your fiancé, she still deserves to live even if she is a killer."
Ryan felt helpless but not hopeless. "Lord, please don't let her regret this for the rest of her life. She is your daughter, speak to her and she will listen."
**********
As Lolita got home later that evening after finishing her shopping for her schooling in the UK, she got inside her room, turned on her mp3 player and sighed as Eben's "Idinma" began to play. She freshened up and laid on her bed and just as she was about to turn off the player, Tasha Cobb began to sing "for your glory." She sat up and ran her hands through her short hair.
"Lord, what should I do? Do you also expect me to give a part of my body to Lorato? It hurts to think about all the evil she has done." No answer seem forthcoming and so she decided to sleep. As her head hit the pillow, she heard in her spirit
While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us...
"Abba! Come on!" She whined but knew God was about to start their conversation and she was not prepared to listen. Another scripture came up, "Proverbs 6 verse 27, can a man scoop fire into his lap without his clothes being burned?"
Lolita sighed. Truly, Lorato was getting what she deserved but... She knew it will not end there.
"Romans 9 verse 15, I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion."
