I wake up with a pounding headache. I groan, and yawn. My body hurts so bad. I get up, and grab my cellphone. It's 2 o'clock in the morning. I rub my eyes, and let out a sneeze. I sniff, and put on my shoes. I open the door to my bedroom slowly trying not to wake Matt up. I walk down the stairs, and I hear the TV on. I look at the couch, and see Matt still awake watching television.

"Why are you awake? It's 2 o'clock in the morning, we have school" I tell him opening the fridge.

He shrugs. " I couldn't sleep"

"Well that makes two of us"

He gets up and walks over to me. He looks at me in worry.
He walks over to me and puts his hand on my head. I give him a confused look.

"God, Riley your burning up. Where's your thermometer?"

"In the second cabinet" I tell him. My stomach hurts really bad, and I feel like I'm going to pass out.

He opens the cabinet, and looks around for the thermometer. He finally finds it, and turns it on. He walks back over to me.

"Here" I open my mouth, and he puts the Thermometer into my mouth. We stand there and wait, and my body starts to feel weaker by the second. I hear a beep, he takes it out and looks at it.

"You have a fever of 101.7. That's pretty high" everything starts to spin, and my eyes start to close.

"Riley?"I feel my body fall to the floor, and the last thing I see is Matt calling my name, helping me up from the floor.

I wake up. My vision is a bit blurry, so I blink continuously to get my vision back clearly. I feel something on my head. I pick it up, and see that it's a wet cloth. I lay it back down, and I see myself lying down on my bed, with lots of blankets wrapped around my body. I'm very warm right now. Did Matt do all of this? I close my eyes, and let out a sigh. I hear a knock on my door. I open them back up and look towards my door. I see Matt walking in with a bowl of soup. He gives me a small smile. He sets the soup down, and sits down on my bed. I stare at him, and he stares back at me.

"How are you feeling?" He asks me.

"I'm feeling the same, but I feel more confused at the moment. " I say, my voice coming out a little raspy.

He nods. "I brought you soup" He tells me.

"I saw, thank you"

"Your welcome"

"You didn't poison it did you?" I ask him.

He laughs. "No I didn't" I smile at him, and he smiles back at me. Wow, didn't see that coming.

"Here let me help you up" he tells me. I put my hands on either side of my body , and try to lift myself up. He gets up and grabs my waist, and brings me up a little on the bed. He slowly removes his hands away from me, and I watch as he sits back down.

"Try it"

"I'm gonna go brush first" I go to the bathroom and brush my teeth. I walk back into the room, and lay down on the bed.

I pick up the soup, and the spoon. I put some into my mouth. It's actually not that bad.

"Hmm, not bad. You know for a jerk your not that bad of a cook"

"I have my moments"

"Why are you helping me?"

"I have nothing better to do"

"I find that hard to believe"

"Why?"

"I just do."
