I felt as if I broke his gaze, the whole world would fall apart. But, I had to. I hesitantly looked away from his intense stare and rummage through my bag. I took it out to see a message from him again. I battled to keep a smile from creeping on my face.

"Who's it from?" His muscles tensed, as he already knew the answer.

"Uh...him..." I whispered softly, looking down at my hands, letting my fringes hide my face.

"Give me your tab." He sneered through his teeth. His jaw was clenched.

I violently shook my head. I clutched it towards my chest. "No..."

"Give it." He growled. He reached his muscular hand towards me, demanding the object to rest in his big palms. I was scared of what might happen if we weren't in a room full of people.

Just then, the bell rang for us to go to our sixth class. I stashed the object into my bag and quickly made a beeline towards the door.

I went to my next class, in hope I won't bump into Alden the rest of the day.

Closing my locker, I made my way to another five minute walk home. Hope I don't run into him. I round the corner just to be face smacked into a toned chest. His arms wrapped around my waist, steadying me. I looked up to see him. I spoke too soon.

"Why are we running for?" He let out a chuckle, his arms still securely around my waist. Why the sudden change in mood?

"You." I mumbled quietly. His arms tensed around my waist. He then let go of his grasp.

"Remember what I told you. Don't fool yourself." His jaw clenched as he pushed past me. Mood swings much?

I made my journey off the school campus onto the familiar streets I've grown up in. I past the little playground that the orphanage has for the kids. I helped fundraising it a couple years back. I smiled at the little children playing.

I made my way up the front steps into my house. I closed the door behind me, walking through the living room/kitchen.

"Mum?" I yelled through the house. The house was quiet. I shrugged my satchel onto my desk and pulled my hair out of its ponytail. I guess she's still at work.

I went into the small bathroom and turned on the water heater. I went into my room and walked over towards the book shelf full of books I found yesterday. I brushed my finger over the bindings. They all felt brand new.

I went over towards my drawer and got out some fresh clothes. I tied my hair up in a messy bun. I shrugged off the school uniform and hung it on the wall. I stepped into the shower, feeling the warm water fall onto my bare skin.

I dried myself off and put on the fresh clothes. Staring at the mirror, I looked at my reflection. It then rippled away showing blue writings across the screen.

Keira, I'll be home in an hour. Make yourself dinner okay? -Mum

It rippled back to my reflection. I grabbed the dirty clothes and brought it to the washer with the rest of the dirty clothes. I put them in the washer and left to go get something to eat.

Mum goes to work to support us. I went to the fridge and got out some leftover mac and cheese from last night. I grabbed some lean beef and vegetables out and went over to the counter.

I finished assembling the leftover meal and brought out two bowls for myself and mother. Stuffing my face with the food, my tab vibrated. I stumbled over the small chair and got to my satchel. I took the tabloid out. I got two new messages.

BritBoyStemonty hey! how are you?

SurfNTats he could be someone he says he's not. don't fool yourself.

I scoffed at his message. Who does he think he is? I replied to BritBoy's message.

KeiratheAussie hi! I'm good, you?

BritBoyStemonty good. have you read any of the books yet?

KeiratheAussie actually no not yet

BritBoyStemonty I think you should. I heard some books written back then were called 'science fiction' and were told to be written in the future xP

KeiratheAussie k I'll see if I have any of those. what are you doing?

BritBoyStemonty well, not trying to brag, but I'm currently checking myself in the mirror looking at my perfect muscular inked abs on my tan skin ;)

KeiratheAussie sure you are. sure

BritBoyStemonty want me to prove it?

KeiratheAussie yeah sure, you're just gonna take a picture off the network

BritBoyStemonty okay then video chat? so I can see you?

KeiratheAussie fine...but just for two minutes. don't laugh at how ridiculous I look

The screen on my tabloid started rippling with his name. I pressed answer and placed the tabloid onto the counter.

I sat back on the stool nervously. "Uh...hi." I tucked a strand of my hair behind my ear.

"Wow...I mean..." He cleared his throat. "Um hi, to you too." He scratched the back of his neck. His inked arm flexed as he did so. His jet black hair was styled in a quiff. My eyes then traveled down towards his inked torso.

"You like what you see?" He let a low husky chuckle. My cheeks immediately turned a crimson color. "No worries love." He gave a cute smile showing off his perfect white teeth.

"Um...so..." I looked down at my fumbling hands, hiding the tint color on my face.

"You look cute when you blush." Which only caused me to blush more.

"So um...its almost two minutes. We should--"

"Oh come on. We just saw each other. Don't leave." He pouted.

"Well what to do then?" I grabbed my tabloid and headed towards my room.

"Keira, is that right?" My name rolled off his tongue so easily. I smiled and nodded.

"How about you? Mr. BritBoyStemonty." I imitating a British accent.

"Alek. And not bad with the accent Miss. KeiratheAussie." He tried to do an Australian accent but slightly failed, causing me to have a fit.

"Are those the books you found?" He pointed to the shelves behind me. I nodded and stood up, walking towards them.

"They look brand new." I ran a finger over the bindings. I wonder what's behind the pages. The secret the writers want to get across. The meaning of its chosen words.
