We sat and ate in silence. He kept on repeatedly look at me, then look around rapidly before looking back to half eaten breakfast. When there was a knock at the door, I offered to answer it, but he declined my offer quickly before heading to the front door. I stood behind the wall, listening to the silent yelling.

"Hey bro. You up to some fun this weekend?" Whoever's voice that was certainly sounded as if he had a smirk plastered on his face.

"No. I'm not really in the mood today."

"Woah, dude. You've never declined to have fun. Like ever. Are you okay, dude?"

"I'm fine." Alden spat back. I peered through the corner to see his cheeks flushed and he's rather mad and irritated. "Please, leave."

"What's gotten into you, man?"

"Nothing. Now leave." He pushed the guy out of the doorway and slammed the door in his face. He balled his hands into a fist, before turning around, staring at me.

"Keira--" I hurried away into the kitchen, bringing the empty plate to the sink, cleaning it. My hands were trembling, I don't know exactly why.

"Keira..." I felt his hands placed on my waist, as I jumped from the sudden contact. 'Keira.' The way my name rolled off his tongue gave a lovely and intoxicated feel to it. "Keira..." I dropped the plate, causing the shreds of glass to splatter everywhere.

"I-I'm sorry." I bent down to clean it up. His hands stopped me, holding my hands in mid-air. He turned them over, to see a large red gash on it. He grabbed a dishcloth, putting hard pressure on the wounded place.

"You have to be more careful." He whispered, before pulling me up. He guided me towards the bathroom. Sitting on the closed toilet lid, I held the cloth stained with crimson blood tighter around my wounded hand.

He carefully took the cloth away, taking a new damp one, cleaning it, then putting on the medicine before bandaging it with a gauge. "Now, don't put too much pressure on that hand." He didn't look me in the eye. He went back to the cabinet, putting away the first-aid kit, then leaving the room, pausing at the doorway, then continued walking.

I looked down at my hand to see the gauge wrapped securely around the wound. I noticed he also put the bracelet he had given me on my wrist. A small smile tugged my lips.

I walked back into the kitchen to see him hunched over, picking up the scrap pieces of the broken plate. I waited quietly at the corner, until he stood up, meeting my gaze. My cheeks flushed, but I never broke contact with him. I quickly looked away, throwing the scraps away, cleaning up, turning his back towards me. I couldn't help but feel a as if someone was squeezing my heart with all of their pressure.

I walked into his bedroom, not knowing where else to sit besides the small chair in the corner. Checking the clock, it was now 10. When visiting hours at the orphanage opened on the weekends.

"Hey." His voice startled me. I turned around to see him leaning against the doorframe, his hands dug into his pockets.

"Hey." I played with the bracelet on my wrist. He took some strides into the room.

"So," He plopped down on his bed. "What do you want to do today?" He asked sincerely.

"Can we go visit the orphanage?" I saw him froze a bit, but then regained himself.

"Uh, yeah. Sure."

------------------

We drove to the orphanage in silence. "Alden?" He hummed in reply.

"I didn't see your mum yesterday, or today." My eyes flickered towards him.

"That's cause I don't live with her."

"What-what happened? To her?" I didn't want to sound as if I was prying into his privacy.

"She left." Why did she leave?

"Oh. Um, what about your dad?"

"I don't have a father." He gritted through his teeth. His grip on the wheel tightened, making them go white.

"Oh." I whispered back. We drove the rest of the way in complete utter silence.

We walked through the entrance, Alden getting fidgety all of a sudden. I walked up to the butterfly room to see the kids all out and about, playing with their work out toys.

"Keewa!" One of the little ones squealed. All heads turned towards my direction as they all mobbed me with a hug.

"Hey!" I tried to hug all of them. "How are you guys?" I noticed they were more nourished then the last time I visited.

"Great!"

"Brother Calvin got us some good food!" Mentioning his name, Calvin popped his head through the door in the far right of the room.

"Keira!" He opened up his arms, walking towards me as I walked towards him, giving him a hug.

"My little nugget." He ruffled my hair.

"Hey!" I pouted.

"Come on. You know what Keira should do guys?" He asked and they all chorused. "You need to turn that frown upside down!"

A chuckle escaped my lips as I picked up one of the little ones. "Well, I see we have a new family member. What's your name sweety?" She looked away shyly, clinging to my shirt.

"Ro." She had a shy smile as her eyes glinted while looking at me. "Your have pretty hair." Her hands played with my hair.

"Well Ro, I bet you feel welcome?" She nodded giddily.

------------------

"Okay, now you guys go play, while I talk to Ms. Kartner." I looked over to see Alden playing with the kids. He seemed calm and happy. I walked over to him with Ro in my arms. Her small little pigtail braids bounced on her head.

"Ro, meet Alden." I introduced them. She hid in the crook of my neck, giggling shyly. "It's okay, he won't bite." She giggled before peeking at him, then snuggling up against me.

I put Ro on Alden's lap, before biding a short see-ya-later and walking towards the office. I could faintly hear her ask, 'Do you think Keira is pretty?' and a soft 'Yeah.' in reply. I shook my head, with a stupid smile plastered on my face.

Picture of how Ro looks like in the sidebar>>>>

I'm not really sure who should play Ro right now. She's so cute! Kawaii~

So the beginning of the chapter was kinda sad and then it moves onto some happy things. I actually was listening to Turn Your Face by Little Mix while I was writing the first 5/7 of the chapter on repeat.

Is it just me, or does anyone else write their best when they're listening to emotional songs? Cause that's like me right there. I write the quickest when I listen to something emotional and sad and I get my ideas way quicker.

Today is the beginning of my summer break. O_O Ermahgersh I'm gonna be a freshman in high school next year. HEELPP MEEHHHH
