"We haven't talked in a while, huh?" Calvin said, crossing his arms over his chest.

"You two talked before?" I raised an eyebrow.

"Yeah, 'course we did." Alek smiled in amusement.

"Can I go get another cupcake?" Ro asked, tugging my shirt.

"'Course. You can go. Try not to be so messy." I pinched her nose slightly. She giggled before taking off out of the room. Alden started walking in, leaning up against the door frame.

"Alden." Alek said with a somewhat forced smile.

"Alek." He nodded back.

"I'm guessing they don't get along?" Calvin said behind me causing me to jump a bit.

"Uh, yeah."

"Go figures." He chuckled with a smile, shaking his head.

"What do you mean?" I cocked my head to the side.

"Really? What do I mean?" He stared at me like I had another eye growing at the top if my forehead. "You say that I'm blind for love, yet you don't look at yourself and your surroundings." He shook his head before sitting on his bed.

I turned my gaze towards the screen to see it split in two, well not really. Alek's face was now pushed over towards the right as another face come up onto the screen.

"Who are you?" Calvin, Alden, Alek and I said in unison.

The dark haired boy with piercings and tattoos didn't look at all fazed by our outburst. "I'm Hadley. You don't really need to know that but anyways. I came here to warn you about M."

I froze in my spot. Did he just say M? As in, the same person who has been sending these random notes? Does he perhaps know where my mother is?

"What about M?" Alden spoke up. He walked over towards me and placed a hand on my arm. I could see Alek tense on the screen.

"He has your mum, as you already know, and he--he is very powerful."

"What do you mean powerful?" Calvin pitched in.

"He's a scientist and he--he created Maxius." His blue eyes seemed to have darkened at his name. His eyes filled with clouded darkness as well as, sadness?

"Who is Maxius?" Alek and Calvin asked at the same time.

I stood there as all eyes trailed to me. I couldn't move. I couldn't talk. Not after what has happened.

"He attacked her." Alden said in a hushed voice. His grip on my arm tightened.

The room filled with silence as the dark haired boy shifted uncomfortably in his seat.

"I don't know what he might do to your mum. He--he did things to Maxius to make him what he is today. I know he isn't like that. I-It's all because of him." He said with such venom and sadness.

"Can you tell me who he is?" I finally spoke up. I looked at him hopefully.

"I'm sorry. I can't." He said apologetically. "I would if I could but, he'd try to find me. He's probably tracking this right now. He knows where you are at all times."

"D-do you know what happened? What happened to my mother? Is she alright?"

"Yes, she is fine. As far as I know, he hasn't done anything to her." He did something off the screen then came back. "Yes, he has not done anything to her. Yet."

"Yet. Which means he will." Alek spoke up.

"What does he want from her?" I asked.

"And you. He wants his revenge. For what he believes your mother has done."

"What did she do?" Calvin asked.

"I'm not quite sure. I've hacked all systems that lead to M but it doesn't say anything about what he believes she did. All I know, is that he want his revenge."

"What can we do? To get her mother back?" Alden said.

"You can't. He wants them both dead."

A gasp escaped my lips as I clutched my stomach and chest. My hand flew up to my head as I felt the pounding beat against my skull ferociously.

"Keira!" Calvin and Alden came to my aid.

"Is she alright?" "What's happening to her?" Alek and Hadley asked.

"We don't know." I felt Alden's arms around my waist as I continuously felt the pounding increase. My heart started to ache, becoming rapid. I closed my eyes shut tightly as the pain engulfed me. The pain in my stomach felt as if something was eating at it.

"Sir, I'm afraid you can't go in there. Sir!" I heard Ms. Kartner's voice from a distance.

A figure came barging into the room. His curls fell messily on his head, his breathing rapid. His green eyes locked with Hadley's on the screen.

"Terrence?" "Maxius?" They gasped at the same time.

The ground began to shake tremendously. Shelves began to knock over. I crouched closer to Alden as the pain began to increase.

The PCS came crashing down as Alek's and Hadley's voice echoed before the screen got disconnected. I could hear a voice calling Terrence out in the distance as I heard another scream for Leigh and many others.

"It's okay. We're gonna be okay. Keira? Keira?!" I heard a faint voice calling my name through the crashing as I slowly drifted into a different world full of darkness.

You're probably really confused with who Terrence Rainer is. I'll explain in the next book.
