The Better (part 2)

I head over to Riley's place knowing that she'll be home. She told me that her parents and her brother went to the zoo today and that she wanted to hangout, but I told her I had to talk to Smakle.

I go up the fire escape and I enter through the window and stare at her.

She turns around and smiles. "What are you doing here Farkly?" Riley asks me.

I walk up to her and before I can back out of it pull her into a kiss.

You might be thinking that this is a little cliche, but you have to remember that her parents are the Cory and Topanga. If I want to get with her I think I'm going to have to be more than a little cliche.

After what feels like forever and a moment I pull back. I stare into her soft brown eyes and smile shyly. "Sorry. I hope I didn't just force you to do something you didn't want to. I don't ever want you to feel forced to something if you don't want, and I don't want to take advantage of you in any way, shape, or form. Oh god I'm an awful friend and human being and-"

Reilly stops my by throwing her arms around my shoulders to give my a big hug. I stop and just stand there for a moment taking it all in then hug her back.

"I didn't mind," she clarifies, "But what about Smakle?"

I feel myself get a little sad. Even though my feeling for her aren't the same anymore, that doesn't mean I never loved her. I truly hope that she's better off now. Maybe even finding a new man. Even if I did just break up with her.

"I... decided to end things."

The brunette looks at me with her big doe eyes. "Why?"

I grab her hand and lead her to sit down at the bay window. "Well I realized that my feeling for her just aren't what they used to be. I rather break her heart now being honest than keep lying to her and hurt her more."

"Is that the only reason?"

"No. I can't hide that I also moved on to another very special girl."

She tilts her head in a confused way. "And who's that?"

I cup her beautiful face in my hands as gently as I can. "It's the girl that I've been in love with since the second grade. When Lucas broke up with you a few months ago for Maya I wanted to punch him in the face for hurting you and that's when it hit me. I may like Smakle, but I love you. I'm not gonna let you slip away."

She smiles happily at me. "And here I thought that I let you get away. My dad always tells me that he almost lost my mom and that's when he realized he almost lost the best thing that's ever happened to him, so when you started dating Smakle I thought I let you get away." She stops to kiss me on the cheek and squeeze my shoulders. Riley whispers, "You are my everything Mr. Minkus."

"As you are to me, one day to be Mrs. Minkus," I say back.

The brunette blushes lightly and tried to hide it by burying her head in my chest. I laugh at her then take her hand making her look up at me. "You don't have to be embarrassed around me. I love you no matter what. Especially when you get all cute and blushy like this."

Riley leans up to me and kisses me making me take a mental note of thanking Smakle for everything later.
