Chapter 10

Beyoncé entered back into the home from dropping Gabrielle off at school. On the way, she told Gabrielle how it would be her last time riding in the back of an SUV to school. Thankfully, Gabby understood that it was her last day sleeping in the unfamiliar space, but she was bummed about not being able to say goodbye to Ms. Ebony. The woman was truly a good influence on Gabby, and grew fond of her.

Bey heard commotion upstairs, and knew that Shawn was awake. She walked up the stairs to make sure that she had everything that she needed before she left. The last thing she wanted was to have to make another trip out here one day. Shawn's house wasn't necessarily on her route of places to go. She looked around her room briefly until she felt someone watching her.

"Good morning," she said to Shawn without bothering to look at him. "Are you sober, now?"

"Sorry about that," he apologized quickly. "I...I've never been..."

Beyoncé giggled. "It's fine. You didn't do anything."

"It's not even the fact that I didn't go through with anything. I felt when your body tensed up, and I should've known right then that it wasn't the best situation for you, especially after what happened."

Beyoncé turned to face him. She shook her head, not wanting to use her past as an excuse. "Me being a rape victim means nothing, Shawn. I was scared because you'd never been that close to me. I never thought once that you'd do something stupid."

"Why not?"

Beyoncé smirked. "You're not exactly the type to push up on a woman, Shawn. I would've also kicked your drunk ass."

Shawn smiled at that and shook his head. "So you're all ready to go? Gabby's at school?"

Beyoncé nodded her head. She looked around the room for a moment and back to him. "I'm ready to go. I just need to use your driver for a moment."

"I need my driver."

"Not for another hour. You're not slick. I've learned your schedule."

Shawn was amused by the fact that she'd learned his schedule. He was a well calculated man when it came to his schedule, but he did like being unpredictable at times. "Fine. You can have my driver. Anything you'd like to take from me, Beyoncé?"

Bey playfully rolled her eyes. "I'd love for you to carry my bags downstairs."

"Where's Ebony?"

"Pretty sure I asked you."

Shawn chuckled and walked around her. Regardless of the fact that he was still in last night's clothes, he would help her with anything that she needed. He grabbed the two suitcases and allowed Beyoncé to lead the way to the awaiting black SUV. His driver acknowledged his presence, but didn't get out of the truck.

"What did you do to my driver?" Shawn whisperer to her.

Bey chuckled. "I reminded him of the fact that you're not handicap. Stop being lazy."

Shawn placed the bags in the trunk of the SUV and looked at her. "I'm not lazy, I just like people taking care of me."

"Like me feeding you as if you're under a year old?"

"Exactly. You're a pro at that."

Beyoncé rolled her eyes. "Goodbye, Shawn."

"Wait. You're not coming to the office today?"

"Your assistant has all the information."

Shawn took a step back and looked at her. "So now we communicate via my assistant? Beyoncé, really?"
