"I'll tell you what happened in a little bit, I gotta have this talk with my mom" Clyde said making me pout.

"Okay bye" I sighed not wanting to hang up.

"Stop acting like that, I'ma call you later baby girl"

"Fine bye" I said before hanging up. I rolled over on my bed and sat up. Taking my phone I let it charge and decided to go get something to eat.

I walked down the stairs and noticed my father in the living room talking to Toni. Rolling my eyes I turned around quickly so that I didn't have to speak to him.

"Ameenah" his deep voice called out. I closed my eyes tightly and debated if I should continue walking and act like I didn't hear him. I decided against that idea and just walked into the living room.

"Yes?" I answer staying by the threshold that separated the hallway from the living room.

"Sit down" he said as Toni watched me. I slowly took a seat at the couch furthest from them. Lately it seems like they've been the best of friends.

"Hey Ameenah" Toni smiled standing up.

"Hey" I mumbled as she walked out of the living groom. I then sat in silence waiting for him to speak.

"I know I probably should've had this talk with you years ago" he started making me looking at him strangely.

"What talk?" I asked. He didn't answer he just picked up some folders and handed them to me. Picking them up my eyes scanned the documents and I scrunched up my face in confusion.

"Keep reading" he encouraged as I flipped through the papers. I came across my birth certificate and frowned when I noticed what was on it.

"This can't be..." I whispered as tears filled my eyes.

"You were never suppose to find out because it was a confidential agreement but with all that's happened I just..."

"How? Why?" I said not knowing what to ask. This was all just too much for me to handle.

"Your mom was pregnant with our first child but she lost the baby"

"And what you adopted me or something, but if you adopted me then why was Corrinne around?" I asked.

"I stepped out on your mother--" he began

"Nothing new" I scoffed.

"Corinne got pregnant but she didn't want the baby. Your mom said that she wanted you and Corinne agreed. We decided to have Corinne around you but she started getting crazy and we had to get the contract out into action. She wasn't allowed around you, she couldn't contact you in any shape or form. That's why she stopped coming around when you were 10."

(A/N: I think I said 14 or something before but now it's 10)

"But I heard mom saying I might not be yours" I said trying to understand.

"Corinne had many partners but I did a DNA test recently and you're mine. I did it while you were in the hospital"

"What other secrets are there? Every time you guys pop up there's more lies and I'm sick of it. You guys wondering why I act how I do. All the money you guys have could never make our home stable"
