"I'm sentencing you to 6 months in jail and 1 year of community service after you've completed the last few months of highschool. Court adjourned" the judge said before slamming her gavel down.

I put my head down in defeat after hearing the sentencing and exited the courtroom. My grandmother and Will followed behind me soon after and gave me sympathetic looks.

"I thought you said you could get her to serve no time" Mama Nita screeched as we exited the courthouse. I had to basically turn myself in when the time came.

"I asked her if she had anything on her records and she said no. She has a rap sheet and I was blindsided in court. She's actually lucky that 6 months is all she was sentenced" Will said as he straighten his tie.

"At least I get to finish school before becoming a prisoner" I said slightly being sarcastic.

"This is nothing to joke about, this is going on your record"

"I guess I'm my mothers daughter" I said before turning away and walking towards the car. I had to live with the consequences of my actions. I wasn't going to sit around and let others make me feel like shit, I did enough of that on my own.

"Surprised your little girlfriend isn't here" I laughed as my nurse helped me to stand.

"Why are you speaking to me?" Dontavian grunted as his nurse helped him to lift his legs. I heard he had gotten most of his feeling back but he had to teach himself a lot of things over again.

"Just saying, usually she's here running behind you like a puppy" I shrugged.

"Why don't you mind your business" he snapped.

"Why so hostile?" I giggled purposely. Dontavian and Aaleeyah were an odd couple, she didn't understand him like I did. He down played our entire relationship and made it seem like he only hit and quit one time.

"I'm just going through shit right now and I don't need you saying smart shit"

"I lost a leg and partial hearing in my right ear, welcome to the club. Stop moping, trust me it'll do nothing for you" I said as I made my way over to my wheelchair. I smiled to myself when I noticed him watching me as I left.

"Can you believe it, we're graduating soon?" I squealed before drinking some of my Sprite. I was standing near Paula's car with Paula, Clyde, Tiara and Cameron, two new people I met.

"They just need to mail me my diploma, after finals I ain't coming back to this bitch" Clyde said making me roll my eyes.

"Right tired of this damn school" Cameron agreed.

"Yo Clyde we playing ball, you coming?" Some nigga asked walking up to the lunch table.

"Yeah I might be there nigga, tell them to have money ready" he laughed. They dapped up each other then the guy walked off.

"I thought you were coming to my dress fitting today?" I asked looking at Clyde. Aaleeyah was going to be my date to prom since Clyde couldn't come and she wasn't going on prom at her own school. She barely liked anyone there since she's only been there for a few so she didn't know many people.
