So this book started being edited but I stopped so please excuse any mistakes. I changed Ameenahs character so some pictures through out the story might throw you off.
Toni-Ann
I looked over at Symone as we walked to the diner that was near by. She was giving Ameenah a dirty look before turning around and continuing to walk straight. I didn't know why she was acting like that, she even gave Mama Nita a hard time when she said she was coming here to stay for a while. Now I think she's mad that Jesse is showing Ameenah some attention. Symone and Jesse use to go out freshman year but she broke up with him. I decided to pull her inside as everyone else walked into the diner.
"What's wrong with you?" I asked.
"What are you taking about Toni?" She asked in a bored tone.
"You having an attitude with Ameenah, she's cool"
"You've known her for like two minutes, acting y'all best friends forever and shit"
"Same for you, you've known her for two minutes and you're acting like a bitch and shit" I said back mocking her and how dumb she sounded.
"She comes strutting in with her name brand bags and shit, she probably think she better than us"
"She seems cool and we suppose to be family" I told her before turning around and walking away. I didn't have time to be dealing with Symone and her ignorance. I walked into diner heading over to the booth everyone was at. Since there was a lot of is they had to attach a table to seat us all.
"Where Symone at?" Sean asked looking around. I looked behind me realizing she wasn't there. I just shrugged my shoulders and sat down ready to order my food.
"Don't know, don't care...let's eat my niggas"
Ameenah
"So what part of New York are you from?" Jesse asked as we sat on the beach. Symone had called Ahmeer to come and pick her up. Xiomara and Marcus had disappeared a while ago, probably somewhere being nasty. Paula was getting annoyed with Sean so she left. It was only me, Jesse, Aaleeyah, Sean and Toni-Ann left.
"The upper east side of Manhattan, Lennox Hill..I don't know if you've heard of it"
"Nah I didn't but I thought you were gonna say Brooklyn, everybody wanna be from Brooklyn" he said making me laugh.
"Right but where are you from?" I asked as I dug my feet through the sand.
"The upper east side of Virginia..I don't know if you've heard of it" he mocked making me burst of laughing.
"That's really cute" I said sarcastically as I rolled my eyes.
"I know I am but why you move out here?" He looked at showing off his cute smile.
"My parents are crazy, if I gets grades below an A they go crazy"
"Shit once I'm passing I don't even care for real" he laughed.
"Well my parents do so they sent me out here because I'm a delinquent getting B's on my report card" I told him rolling my eyes. He laughed looking at me as if I was joking. He stopped though when he realized I was serious.
"I thought you was exaggerating, so they over-protective?"
"Yeah before I came here, I went to an all girls private school and even though I know how to drive my dad gave me a driver so he could know where I am at all times"
"So no boyfriend then I'm guessing?" He asked licking his lips.
"No only a girlfriend"
"Wait you gay?" He asked looking taken back.
"No I just wanted to see your reaction" I laughed.
"So you single then?" He asked again.
"As a Pringle"
"Good" he said before throwing sand on my pants and getting up an running. I laughed dusting myself off before running after him. I really think I'm gonna like it here.

"So what happened today?" Mama Nita asked as she set the peach cobbler on the table.
"I met some people I'm going to be going to school with" I shrugged peeling an orange as Symone walked in the kitchen. She walked over to the cabinet grabbing a bag of popcorn and turned around to walk out but Mama Nita stopped her.
"Little girl come sit your ass down" Mama Nita said making her turn around.
"Yes grandma" she said looking bored.
"Symone if you don't sit cho' ass down" Mama Nita threatened as Symone quickly walked over and sat on the stool furthest from me.
"Sorry" she mumbled.
"Why you got this attitude, this girl ain't do nothing to you. I've observed your behavior since before she came and you've been angry ever since"
"Why she here, she came from money. She didn't have to bury her six year old brother with no damn money. She don't got a mother strung out on drugs. Don't need her here acting all high and mighty"
"She broke, her parents are the ones with money. And her having money has nothing to do with the things that have happened in your life. You don't know her so stop this damn attitude you got. Y'all are family and I know sometimes blood don't mean shit but give her a chance. I am too old to be dealing with petty teenager shit..I need a blunt" she said before shaking her head and walking out the kitchen.
"Look you don't have to speak to me because she said so. I'll stay out of your way if you stay out of mine" Il told her before standing up.
"No, she's right. I'm sorry for judging you and being a bitch"
"Sooo are we cool now and Jesse told me you two went out so I'll back off if its a problem"
"No its cool, I've have no feelings for him" she said before an awkward silence fell over us. We stood there looking around before bursting out laughing.
"I'm gonna get ready for bed, I'll see you in the morning" I smiled at her before walking out. I was happy that things didn't escalate and turn crazy between us because we do have to live together.
I walked upstairs prepared to go to my to and sleep. Me and Toni-Ann's room was secluded from everyone else's room. you had to turn into another hallway to get to my room so we were far from Mama Nita's room. I walked down about to go to my room and saw Toni's door cracked and decided to go talk to her. I stopped when I heard a male voice in her room. I knew no one would hear because they were in the front rooms around the corner. Being the nosy person I was I looked and saw her kissing on some boy. My eyes widened when I realized who it was.
Why did my ass have to go and be nosey?
