Jesse
"A nigga did this?" I asked loudly. Siona just stood staring off into space as if she didn't hear me.
"What's going on?" My mom asked coming from the back. She came towards us and gasped when she took in Sionas face.
"That's what I'm trying to figure out"
"Siona what happened to your face?"
"I fell" she mumbled trying to continue walking towards her room.
"Yeah fell repeatedly into someone's fist" I laugh humorlessly.
"Sit down" my mom demanded and she scurried to the couch and sat down.
"You've been really secretive lately, you've been coming home late. Do I need to go back to picking you up from school everyday again?"
"Why you asking her what to do like you not the mother"
"Jesse" she warned making me close my mouth.
"Mom I messed up" she broke down crying.
"Just talk to me"
"I met this girl and she told me she needed help carrying something. I helped her not knowing she was stealing from someone" Siona revealed making me look at her like she was stupid.
"So you just randomly helped some stranger carry sh--stuff? From where?" I asked knowing she was lying.
"I told you to bring your ass straight home from school now you done got into some shit" my mom shook her head and covered her face.
"I know but Nakisha wanted--" Siona started talking and I shook my head. That girl Nakisha was bad news, at the age of 12 she was hoeing around the way. Now she's 17 with two kids and still hoeing like it pays her bills. If you gonna be a hoe at least get paid for it, she do that shit for free.
"Nakisha? That trifling little girl from around the corner?" My mom shouted.
"I wanted to go shopping but I knew you wouldn't give me money but this girl promised that we would get paid if we helped her drop some things off" she explained making herself sound even dumber.
"How your face get like that is all I care about since you wanna lie about other stuff"
"Some guy came out of nowhere and began hitting her so we tried helping then some other guys came and got some females to jump us."
"How you get home? Where Nakisha at?"
"They were focused more on the girl that stole but I heard gunshots and escaped. I don't know who go hit but I didn't turn back. What if they come looking for me?" she cried.
"I'll talk to some of the guys at the precinct" my mom said. I know my sister and I didn't make her life any easier after my father died. Slowly but surely she was starting to just give up on us. I could tell she didn't know what to do anymore.
Ameenah
"This is cute" I gasped picking up some gold glittery heels. Aaleeyah and I were currently in the mall not looking for anything in particular but a few heels caught our attention. Since prom was coming up we decided to take a look in this prom store and check out the heels. Clyde was with me at first but he was more worried about taking the dresses off of me. So I just told him to go play basketball with his friends.
