"How do you feel Ameenah?"

"How do I feel? I don't even know how to feel sometimes." I answered.

"I feel like there's a curse on this generation. There's something that wants to hold us back from being happy and successful" I confessed.

"Why do you feel like that?"

"Why do I feel like that? How can I not feel like that after all that has happened"

"My life and the people around make me feel like that. If I told you the things that have happened to me, my friends, you'd understand" I added.

"Well make me understand, I can't help you if you don't want the help"

"Help me? Can you stop the bad things from happening to me" I asked.

"I can't but I can help you get through this"

"No one can help me through this"

Ameenah

"Girl you workin' with some a**, yeah, you bad, yeah,

You gon' ride in the Jag, yeah, with that head,

You could smoke or buy a bag, yeah, of grass, yeah,

Got money I can flash, yeah, and trash, yeah,

I'ma big timer n****, yeah, pull the trigger, yeah,

A playa hata flipper, yeah, grave filla, yeah,

I be slangin' wood, yeah, out the hood, yeah"

I smiled dancing with Aaleeyah as the DJ kept playing hits back to back. Sticking my tongue out I began twerking as best as I could in my form fitting dress. Feeling hands grab my waist I turned my head thinking it was Aaleeyah and saw that it was Jesse. I quickly stood up straight and faced him.

"What the hell?" I frowned looking around for Aaleeyah.

"You look beautiful" he replied ignoring my reaction as if we were on the best of terms.

"What do you want?" I asked walking from the dance floor and off to the side.

"I wanted to talk to you but somewhere quieter" he said making me shake my head in disagreement.

"What do we possibly have to talk about?" I questioned rolling my eyes. He was really trying it right now considering all the petty stuff he did.

"A lot if you would just hear me out" he breathed giving me a look that use to make me melt.

"You got two minutes" I said walking out of prom with him following closely behind me. I was cool with the people at the desk and they said they would let me back in when I came back.

We walked down a hallway away from all the noise. Making our way into a stairwell,  I leaned against the wall waiting for him to say what he had to say.
