"You know you dead wrong" I told Toni-Ann as she got ready for her date.
"What are you talking about?" She asked playing dumb while apply her mascara. I shook my head as she fixed her hair and grabbed her things walking past me.
"You going on a date with someone that has a fucking girlfriend, what type of shit is that?" I semi-yelled following after her. People always thought I was the bad twin and she was nice. I was just skeptical of people and didn't trust easily. Toni on the other hand was manipulative and would stab you in the back the minute you turned it to her.
"So what? She clearly isn't satisfying him" she shrugged.
"What needs are you satisfying exactly" my grandmother asked walking out of the livingroom. I smirked at Toni and leaned against the wall.
"Nothing grandma" she mumbled glaring at me. I simply shot her a smile, call my petty I don't care.
"No you must think I'm dumb, stay your ass home..I want you in the kitchen with me now" she said before turning around and walking off.
"Why can't you minding your business yo" Toni-Ann said angrily turning to me. I simply shrugged as she stormed off. I would rather her be mad at me than out being stupid.
Ameenah
"I know this ain't what your use to but this is where I live" Jesse smiled opening up the door to his apartment. It looked really nice and spacious but it still felt comfortable and home-like. My house always felt empty no matter how much furniture and portraits were added to it.
"I'm not stuck up, I don't care about name brands and having big houses and expensive cars"I shrugged walking in after him. I was tired of people thinking that I was materialistic because my parents had money.
"Jesse is that you?" I heard a women voice before a older light skin women walked out and smiled at us. She looked a lot like Jesse so I knew that was his mother.
"Yeah, hey mama" he smiled walking over and kissing her cheek. I smiled liking that he seemed close to his mother.
"I didn't know we were having a guest, I would have cooked dinner" she frowned.
"Its cool mom, this is my friend Ameenah, we working on a project for our Humanities class"
"Hi"I smiled looking at her. I didn't know what to say, all I know was I wanted her to like me.
"Hey sweetie, I'm Denyce you can call Mrs.Denyce, or Mama D" she smiled.
"We're going to my room" Jesse said pulling my arm.
"Oh okay, Siona is in her room, make sure her ass doesn't leave and don't be grown back there" she warned before leaving.
I followed behind Jesse to a room in the back of the house. He opened the door and revealed a cute room. He had a wall unit that had pictures and trophy in it. I noticed a picture of a dark skin man along with the young girl from earlier.
"Is that your dad?" I asked turning around as Jesse pulled off his shirt and walked into his closet.
"Yeah" he answered walking out with some gray sweatpants and a plain black Polo tee. I turned quickly blushing when I noticed his print in the sweats.
"Where is he?" I asked trying to keep my mind from any dirty thoughts.
"He died about a year ago"
"I'm so sorry" I frowned walking over to him and sat next to him on his bed. I didn't know what else to say so I just hugged him. After spending the past three weeks of getting to know Jesse I considered him a good friend.
"It's cool shit happens right?" He said with no emotion as he stared out into space.
"When our maid Corrine died, I thought my world was over" I told him.
"Your comparing the death of a maid to my fathers death?" He asked looking at me like I was crazy.
"Well she wasn't just a maid, she was basically like a second mother. My parents weren't around much when I was growing up. They wouldn't be home for most if not all of my birthdays and just sent money for me to buy things to substitute the fact that they weren't there. Corrine was the only one that remembered every birthday, was there when I got my period and thought I was bleeding the death" I laughed and he made a face laughing.
"How did she die?" He asked laying back on his bed and pulling me down next to him.
"I don't know, I just remember my mom saying she was dead and they told me I wasn't invited to the funeral" I said lowly as I picked random lint from his shirt.
"Damn sound like her ass lying, if that lady loved you like it seemed like it...she would've wanted you there"
"I don't know, my mom tried bonding with me after that but I was fourteen and didn't care any more"
"Your parents sound crazy, I'm glad your ass came out somewhat okay" he joked nudging me.
"What do mean some what?" I laughed looking up at him. He laughed looking down at me, staring at me for a minute before kissing me. I grabbed his face pulling him closer as the kiss got more intense. I let out a small squeal when he grabbed my back side pulling me on top of him.
I could get use to this.
