"Ok." Ant continues."These two have picked a team mate to compete with by their side in the next bush tucker trial. Guys, please can you reveal your team mates."
"Come on Carol!" Danny says as she stands and jumps over, embracing him in a hug and standing at his side.
"I had a really hard time who to pick." Martin says, "but I've decided to go with a great Olympian, and pick Sam." He says as Sam gives him a quick hug and stands by his side.
"Ok guys, we will see you at the Bush tucker trial clearing in just a moment." Dec concludes as they wave goodbye and stroll back up the path.
I give Sam and Carol a hug before they leave, as well as I give Danny and Martin a warm welcoming hug and polite kiss on the cheek as they've just arrived into camp.
The girls and new arrivals leave shortly after so I decide just to get out of camp for the peace and quite instead of Adam and Jordan messing about! But I guess you cant get very far away in here.
I walk down to the creek type pond that we use as a bath. It's pretty dirty and hard to see the bottom, but clear enough to see a few inches down. I sit on the side, my hands resting on the rocks and I take off my shoes and socks and place them by my side. The water is cold when I dip my feet in, but warms up after a couple of minutes or so.
I need to think. I stare into the water. I just think about the past 4 days and replay the best times in my head. The dingo dollar challenge, the trials, all the girls.
Joel.
I think about Joel. He's been amazing in here. I know we like each other, but I know I would be lying to myself if I said I didn't like him more than that. His body, cheeky smile, wit and personality is to die for. But what I really like, is that he doesn't like to be to caught up in the cameras like some celebs. He doesn't brag about money or home life. He doesn't drop names and appreciates everything that he has.
He's a normal guy. I guess that's why I really like him. Is it weird we've known each other less than a week, and I'm closer to him than anyone in here.
I lose myself in my thought. I don't hear Joel walk by.
"Hey." He says to me, as he looks down towards me. "Sorry, did I startle you?" He asks softly.
"Little bit." I laugh looking back down at the water.
"Can I sit?" He says hopefully but more vulnerable and relaxed, and I move my shoes out the way and tap the floor indicating he can. He sits down and smiles as me, placing his feet in the water.
"What have you been thinking about then?" Joel asks me. I just shrug.
"I guess just my time in here. Its been amazing so far. And.." I pause, "I'm just dreading what its going to be like when its over." I say to Joel.
"Well then." Joel says as he rests his hand on my neck and strokes my jaw line. He moves forward, comes closer and tips my head away from the water and to face him. His brown eyes keep me silent. He looks down to my lips and back to my eyes as he traces his finger over them. "Lets not waste any time." Joel moves closer so we are centimetres apart. His nose brushes on mine as his eyes flutter shut.
"Connie? Joel?" I hear someone shout as they make their way down. Joel pulls back but keeps eye contact with me.
"So close." He whispers as he looks over. He gives my arm a stroke as he looks over.
"Sorry, was I interrupting." I see Wayne ask as he keeps his distance from us on the opposite side of the pool.
"No, its ok." I say.
