She did what she had to do everyday.
It was no longer a test, it wasn't some noble quest on which she embarked to save some lost and lonely heart from breaking.
She just did what needed to be done.
And it wasn't glamorous.
And she knew that no one would see her,
knew that she was invisible to those who believed her existence insignificant.
But she still pushed harder and longer.
Understand.
She did not need to be seen, her reward came in the form of different things;
things also unseen but without a price.
For at night when she takes her hair down,
and wraps herself tight in a worn blanket,
she does not lose sleep over her life, doesn't have regret to steal away precious hours,
she sleeps soundly.
And that in itself is a special kind of power that most know nothing of.
But for her, that is all she needs.
