Insane

If in the daylight you think to call my name,
I will come to you, but do not expect to find me sane.
I carry chaos in my bones
and listen to the wilderness rattle
on the throne in my mind and when I find
that all the ravens have stopped their singing I go completely blind with grief
because they were the song
that sung me to sleep.
And I cannot sleep without the noise of insomnia.
Have you ever heard a caged crow sing?
You lie and say yes.
I know it's a lie because it doesn't sing.
It goes completely mad and screams.
The lesson is not to believe every question
has an answer you can see.
The caged crow screams
and the wilderness remains a crowned king and I,
I let it all happen and do not hold anything back.
There is a freedom in the insanity, I find.
I do not have to struggle to tame my wretched mind.
