To deserve the company you keep-
that is worth most things in life.
To feel worthy of their sympathy,
and a part of all their company.
For a man is at his best
when he deserves the company he keeps.
And some do not.
For there are people that will cast him into the deep and laugh as he tries to swim in the hurricane they have placed him in.
Those people do not deserve anyone's company but their own.
And honesty will tell you that it is better to be alone than in their presence.
He chooses not to suffer at their hands anymore, for his own hands being enough trouble to contend with.
And this trouble is what causes his unworthiness to be with people
who he deserves.
How a man can lose the things he earns.
Is there a cure to this cycle?
He thinks not, anyone would,
but others will say that
despite all his flaws and atrocities there is still something good worth saving.
And those people, though rare,
are the ones he and everyone like him,
truly deserve.
