Chapter 28: The First Valentine's Date

Winter Break!

As promised, I helped out at the café. This was the deal I made with my brother. It was quite fun and not that difficult since I already did this a few months back. I think my birthday experience served to make me and Wonho even closer. The others would catch Wonho smiling at me at work or even at club meetings we usually hold at the café. Even if he was placed in the kitchen for other duties, Kihyun would notice he was still smiling. It kinda annoyed Kihyun to the point that he made happy faces on the cupcakes he was making. My brother gave Wonho, Shownu, Hyungwon, I.M, Jooheon, Minhyuk, Kihyun & Gunhee their Christmas bonuses as well.

"What about me?!" I asked.

"Why should I? Money or a gift from me?" My brother asked.

"I hate you. I freakin' hate you oppa."

"I love you dongsaeng."

For Christmas, Wonho and I both gave each other a couple sweater, scarves, earmuffs and mittens!

"Did you buy them where I think you bought them?" I asked.

"Yes! The shop owner said its partner was bought by someone already." said Wonho.

"Really?! Hahaha! I actually went back there to buy this one because I lacked enough money but when I came back, it was gone! So you were there too?"

"Hahaha! Well, I think it was for the best that we didn't see each other. If we did, the surprise would be gone."

"Yeah you're right. Merry Christmas! I hope you like it!"

"Merry Christmas to you too and yes I do! Oh um..."

"What?" I asked.

Wonho pointed above us. There was a mistletoe. We were both by the doorway of the apartment. Fortunately my brother was in the kitchen.

Wonho smiled at me and I knew what it meant.

"Hey you two, can you please... Oh um... you're both busy... nevermind!" we heard my brother shout while we were kissing.

We held a New Year countdown at the café. It was reminiscent of the times we did the same thing back at our province when my family and I would wait for the New Year with everyone else in the community. Before counting down, we made our wishes for the new year ahead. Wonho and I both thanked the past year for bringing us together and wished that whatever problems we would encounter, we're going to solve them together.

"HAPPY NEW YEAR!"

Fast forward two months later... (our Winter break was then over)

WONHO'S POV

"You don't know what to do for Valentine's?"

"Yes. Teach me."

It was a Sunday.

"Myungsoo and I met up at a café somewhere near his home.

"And why did you come to me?"

"Well, you dated Krystal before so, you must know what to do during this... day."

"Aish... if I have known this would happen then I shouldn't have backed out last year..."

"Excuse me?!"

"Hahaha! Just kidding! Let's see now, Valentine's Day here in Korea is more like for us guys. I mean, girls will give the guy some chocolates and then a month later, on March 14th, which is White Day, it's your turn to do that to the girls."
