Harry was excited.

He and Louis were planning on having friends over to have a bonfire and currently he and Louis were picking through a pumpkin patch trying to find the perfect pumpkins to carve.

They walked hand in hand through the rows until harry noticed a small, but plump pumpkin ahead of them. He broke away from louis and hurried to it, lifting it into his arms and turning to grin at louis, who already held his squat little lopsided pumpkin under his arm. He laughed and nodded as harry smiled happily and grabbed his hand again, sparrow trailing behind them slightly.

It was two weeks until Halloween, and harry was more then excited. He had went  and bought all his halloween candy two weeks ago (and had to buy more when louis had eaten it all, as harry knew he would)

When he and Louis arrived at home, they moved to the kitchen table and started to get ideas for designs to carve into their pumpkins.

Then Harry realized

'Weren't you supposed to take me out?' He signs and Louis laughs

"You were too caught up in drawing, I didn't want to disturb you, how about we go out tomorrow night? I'd take you out tonight but we have plans it seems" he says chucking and Harry nods

Soon both pumpkins are carved. Harry's was, of course beautiful with intricate little leaves carved over the entire thing. Louis on the other hand, well his was a mess. He had cut his finger twice in the process and in the end he had a messy carving that resembled an old fashioned jack-o-lantern.

Harry put fake candles in both and set them on the front step then joined louis in the back garden where he was raking autumn leaves. Harry walked up behind him and wrapped his arms around the smaller boy making him yelp slightly, having been started.

"God Haz you scared me" he says then turns around in Harry's arms, grabbing the sides of his neck, foreheads pressed together. Harry chuckles and kisses Louis gently, and this sets off the chain of events that ends with them in a pile of leaves, one on top of the other.

Louis had kissed back pushing forward and Harry had taken a step back with one foot to stay balanced. He stepped right onto the rake Louis had discarded. It whipped up and smacked him in the back of the head. He gasped and instinctively surged forward, making Louis loose his balance and topple over goose who yelped and ran away as Louis crashed to the ground, Harry going down with him. Leaves flew up around them as they lay panting on the damp earth.

Then Harry began to laugh, and laugh and laugh, and Louis joined in and soon two of them were sprawled in the grass covered in leaves gasping for breath as goose circled them, running in to attack one of their faces with licks until he was shoved off and made to circle some more.

Louis sat up and wiped his eyes before standing. He looked down at Harry smiling up at him from the grass, leaves in his long hair, a glitter of joy in his eyes and a feeling of joy so pure washed over him he lost control of his face, his mouth spread into a large smile, his entire face lit up in unabashed endearment as he helped Harry to his feet.

The finished raking the leaves without incident and Harry returned inside, beginning to get the food together as the sun began to set.

When their friends showed up, Harry invited them in, directing them through he house to where Louis was in the back garden, tending the small fire and offered them drinks.

He joined them a few minutes later taking a seat in next to Louis on the small outdoor couch, handing his boyfriend a fresh beer, which he took with a smile and a small thank you.

Niall was sitting across from them, strumming his guitar and singing lightly, everyone joining in. Louis friend Liam, Harry's friends Niall, Ed,   all getting along like a forest on fire.
