"To take my soul
and make it undone.". . . . .
A light smile formed on my face as a soothing hand ran up and down my bare back. I pushed my head further into my pillow to get more comfortable, but my subconscious told me it was time to wake up. My eyebrows furrowed as a quiet groan left my lips and I finally opened my eyes.
I blinked through the tiredness that still blurred my vision to be met with pair of bright green eyes and a soft smile. "Bryce?"
"Good morning." She cooed quietly from her spot in the bed next to me. "Tyler let me in before he left, I hope that's okay."
I sucked in a large breath of air as I rubbed the palms of my hands over my eyes and turned onto my back. A ghostly touch tickled my cheeks, but I pushed the sensation away as I looked up at the girl in front of me.
Bryce sat on the edge of my bed in sweats and a t-shirt, one leg tucked up under her while the other hung over the side in a lazy fashion. A smile played across her lips as she stared back at me and I couldn't help myself as I reached out and ran my hand up her arm.
"What time is it?" I asked as my hand left her soft skin to reach over and grab at my phone on the nightstand.
"Almost 9, I think," Bryce answered as I checked my phone.
It was closer to 8 and it was then that I wondered why she was even up this early and even more so why Tyler was up this early. I set my phone back down on the table and looked back up at her.
"What are you doing here?" I blinked slowly already feeling the warmth from her body as it seeped into the blankets that still covered me.
"I'm here because we're hanging out today!" Bryce shrugged her shoulders excitedly, though her eyes drooped sleepily. I could tell she was definitely not a morning person.
I smiled widely, forgetting all about last nights dream, as I wrapped my hand around her wrist and pulled her toward me. "But it's still early."
There was a knowing smile on her face as she leaned down to rest her hand against my chest. "I thought I could just lie here with you for a while before we did anything."
I hummed quietly in conformation, a giddy feeling running through me as she laid her body down next to mine. "That sounds like a great plan."
"Mhmm." Bryce replied, already wrapping herself up in the blankets and shifting closer to me.
I sighed happily as I draped my arm over her waist and shut my eyes. I knew I wasn't going to fall asleep again because for me it was already pretty late in the morning to be in bed. But Bryce seemed to be able to drift off quickly as she tucked herself further into my side. I suppose lying here for a little while longer wouldn't be so bad since I knew this would be the only full day I'd get to spend with Bryce before Tyler and I began recording.
. . . . .
Bryce watched me intently from her perch on the counter next to the stove as I prepared us a simple breakfast. I glanced her way momentarily as nervousness spike inside me. She tilted her head to the side and held my gaze before I quickly averted my eyes back to the pan full of eggs.
A pleased noise left Bryce's lips as the coffee maker beeped and she slid off the counter to prepare two cups. Goosebumps raised on my arms as she stepped around me, running her hand along my spine as she did so. My attention moved back over to her as she pulled two mugs from an upper cabinet and poured the dark brown liquid into each of them.
