Chapter 2
Homeless, Helpless, Hopeless
They've been running for quite some time now. Nobody saw them leave the Casino but Soojung knows those thugs will not stop until they find their target. She made sure to lost them in different places just as precaution because she knows that Mr. S has lots of eyes around.
When her feet can no longer run, she started slowing down. She stopped at the familiar street, she didn't realized she had run towards her house now.
Finally.
"Why are we stopping?"
Soojung jumped from hearing him. She also didn't realized he's still with her. She thought they parted ways already.
"What are you doing here?" she asked.
He knitted his brows at her, like he's confused or something.
"Are you kidding me?" he asked.
Soojung calmed her breathing first before answering.
"You can go now. I think we've lost them."
"I thought we're going somewhere."
Now it's Soojung's turn to be confused.
"I already took you out of the Casino, we're good. You can go now." she put emphasize on her last statement.
"You said if I wanted to live, I should follow you. That's what I did. Don't tell me you live at a lamp post and a bench." he said, looking at the lamp post and the bench beside them.
"What?!"
"Though I'm not gonna complain if you do."
"Look, I don't know where you're getting but I'm going home and I think it's best for you to leave the kingdom. You might be new here but getting on Mr. S's bad side will do you no good so it is best to just disappear."
It may sound a bit harsh for Soojung but she's not really sure if this guy's mind is working properly so she'll just go straight to the point.
"Aren't you gonna offer your home?"
"And why would I let a stranger inside my house?"
"The name's Jongin. There, I'm not a stranger anymore."
"Idioit! Knowing your name doesn't change anything."
"Come on Soojung, I don't have anywhere to go."
Soojung flinched.
"How did you know my name?"
His mouth pointed at Soojung's right breast. She looked down, she still have her name plate on. This made her blush and hot on the cheeks.
"You are not getting in my house. And that's final."
He sighed. "Fine." Then he went to the bench and sits there and he closes his eyes.
'He must be the most dumbest guy I have ever met.' Soojung thought.
Fine! If he plans to stay at that bench, she doesn't care. He can live there as long as he wants. She started walking away from him. This is her street. Her house, the Jung Manor is just a few steps away from the lamp post. She entered the gates, unlocked the door and went straight inside.
It's already three in the morning but Soojung's still awake. She can't sleep and she knew that something is bothering her. She also knew that it's that stranger.
Before going to bed she looked at her bedroom window to check if he's still there and surprised to see he's still there, with his head resting at the back of the bench. After an hour she took a peak again and he's still there.
