Chapter 12

Hiding

The day before the renovation starts, Soojung woke up Jongin early in the morning. Jongin looks up at the window to see if he overslept but noticed that the sun was just starting to rise up.

"This better be good." he said to Soojung with half-lidded eyes.

"Get up we got a lot of work to do." Soojung grabbed his arm and lifts him up.

"Work?" he said, now with full closed eyes.

Soojung taps his forehead lightly with the stick of the broom she's holding.

"Ow!" Jongin opens his eyes. Soojung had placed the broomstick in his right hand. "You're a lazy person so you probably don't know this but this is what we call broomstick. It's easy to use even for stupids."

Jongin yawns widely. "You're so familiar with it why don't you use it." he tried to put the broomstick back to Soojung but failed.

"Nah ah. You do the sweeping I'll do the mapping."

"At this early in the morning? We haven't eaten breakfast yet."

"Clean now, breakfast later. Come on get your ass out of bed!"

Soojung and Jongin spend the rest of the day cleaning the whole Jung Manor. Since Jongin lives on it now Soojung said it's also his responsibility to maintain the cleanliness of the house. It is also listed as their 4th house rule. It's tiring but they try to make it a little bit more fun by playing their never ending rock, paper, scissors.

"When I was a kid I dreamed of joining the military" Soojung said while wiping off a hard to remove stain under the table.

"A palace knight, huh." Jongin said, he's up at the ladder while wiping the chandelier.

"Yeah."

"Then how come you didn't join?" he asked.

"It's a long story and besides, my mom will never allow me. How about you?"

"Me?"

"Yeah. What is your dream?"

Jongin chuckles. "I have a silly dream." he said.

"Care to share?"

"Hmmm it's nothing, really."

He looks down at Soojung whose looking up at him, waiting for his answer.

Jongin sighed. "Well ..... my dream is to make a certain someone's dream come true and when it does I'll be by his side, guiding him, because he's a complete idiot."

Soojung shook her head, looking disappointed. "You're weirder than I thought."

Jongin laughs at her remark.

Soojung had finally removed the stain and went on to the corner of the wall wherein a small spider web had formed. Jongin's still using the ladder so she just used the end of the feather duster she was using earlier. But she's having difficulties reaching it.

He saw her struggle and chuckled softly.

'Watching her like that is kinda cute. Well .... she's cute anyway.'

Jongin climb down the ladder and approached Soojung. "You know there's a better way, right?"

Soojung sighed and let her arms down. She doesn't like it when she made a fool of herself. She was about to go get the ladder when she was raised up from the ground.

Jongin had picked her up. His arms are around her buttocks and his face is a little too close to her chest. Soojung was beyond surprise.

"P-Put me down!"
