The Criminal

At the corner of his eyes, Jongin noticed a black hooded figure running out of a room. His eyes followed this figure until it reached the end of the hallway and then went out of the big window.

Jongin sighed and shook his head. If someone suspicious like this hooded person were seen running around the palace he would definitely run towards it as fast as he can but he has a pretty good idea who it might be so there's really no need to worry.

"And where do you think you're going?"

The suspicious looking person flinched and turned towards him.

"Man you're still here?!" a very angry Amber faced him.

"The king assigned me to be your personal knight." he answer.

"You mean you're on babysit duty." she said.

Jongin snorted. Some things never change.

Same old Amber.

He walks towards her. "What the heck are you wearing?"

"Ninja outfit!"

"What are you, Japanese?" he almost laughed.

"I wore this so I can sneak out!" Amber punches him in the arm.

"You wore an all black in a brightly decorated palace on a broad daylight in the middle of winter. Way to go blending in Your Highness."

"Tsk! I knew I should have used the servant uniform instead." Amber whispered to herself.

"That would have been worse than this one. With your clumsiness no one would believe you for a palace servant.

Amber glared at him and clicked her tongue again. "Alright smarty pants you caught me! But if you think you can make me go back inside that boring palace, you're wrong!"

"Who said anything about going back?"

"Huh?" Amber looked confused.

"I'm taking you with me." said Jongin.

"Really?!" Amber's face lit up with excitement but then drops again. "Wait, where are we going?" she asked suspiciously.

"I'm taking you out. Already talked to the Prince and he agreed. We'll go hunting at the northern woods with Taemin. He'll meet us halfway."

Amber's eyes went as round as gold coins. "Really!! Man I missed hunting! Thank you Jongin, thank you thank you thank you! I could kiss you right now but of course that's gross. It's gross enough that I have to kiss that frog prince."

Jongin chuckled.

"Come to think of it, I never saw you kiss anyone or even have any interest with anyone. Are you asexual or something?"

"Don't make me change my mind about taking you with us."

"I told you we should get going. What are we still waiting for?" Amber grabs his arm. "Come on Jongin let's go!"

Shaking his head, Jongin let Amber pulls him towards the horse cabin.

As they ride their horses, Jongin's mind went off to somewhere else. Going back to that moment he had his first kiss.

Amber's right, he never showed any interest to anyone before. Yes he got some admirers here and there but he never showed any romantic feelings towards any of them. Out of all the ladies in the land, funny how he ended up kissing his landlady. Who would have thought.
