A Contender

It's been 3 days since the last battle.

One by one the government are returning to the hands of the Jungs. Council meetings were held nonstop throughout the day and even until late at night. Sehun and Sooyeon were very much involve in all those meetings as well as Soojung, Captain Minseok and Kyungsoo but what irritates Jongin is that wherever Soojung is, Minhyuk is present.

But he's not the only one whose being a tail.

Lady Seulgi is starting to annoy Jongin as well.

At the victory party Jongin had successfully avoided her. And it's not easy especially that Lord Yebun had seems to like him for his daughter. Sehun is also coming to his nerves because apparently he had a crush on Lady Seulgi. And he doesn't even bother to hide his glares at Jongin whenever Lady Seulgi will approach him.

"Jongin can you teach me how to shoot? Father used to train me when I was a kid. But he's always busy with work now." she said when she spotted him at the corridor near the military training grounds at the Palace.

"Uhm sorry Lady Seulgi but Sooyeon had ordered me to do an important task for the council meeting."

"I told you to just call me Seulgi."

Jongin smiled awkwardly, scratching his head. He was never good at interacting with the female species and he knows that Lady Seulgi is obviously flirting with him but he's just awkward towards woman.

Why can't all women be easy to talk to like Soojung?

"Jongin!"

He turn his head at the sound of the voice.

Hyeran's walking towards them.

"Princess Sooyeon wants your report immediately." she said.

"What report?" As far as he knows his meeting with the future queen were done this morning hence Lady Seulgi spotted him walking at the corridor. He just said that to avoid her.

"You know, that report." said Hyeran, slightly widening his eyes on him on purpose.

Luckily Jongin catch on. "Oh! You mean that report! Yeah! I ahhh..I need to report on that matter." he said, he bowed to Lady Seulgi then started going back inside the palace with Hyeran.

He released a sigh of relief once they were safe out of earshot. "Thanks. I owe you one."

"You've been hanging around Lady Seulgi lately."

"That woman has good nose. She can find me with closed eyes."

Hyeran laughs. "You better be careful, Sehun has eyes for her."

"Believe me there's no competition."

"Good. Since you're so busy with Lady Seulgi I hope you already have a gift for Soojung."

"Gift? What for?"

"It's her birthday tomorrow!"

"Really?" His lips curved into a smile. A memory came into his mind. He once joked about giving her squids as birthday present. If he actually give that as his gift for her she will probably kill him.

He chuckled to himself.

"What so funny?" Hyeran asks.

"Will squid and octopus be alright as a gift?" he said, jokingly.
