Chapter 7: Mermai-.....Merman?

iris pov

"iris.... iris wake up" Ryder said shaking me

"shut up" I groaned trying to punch him blindly, but by the crack of the night stand looks like I missed

"are you trying to kill me even though I'm trying to help you get to school on time?" he asked and I opened my eyes to see that he was half way dressed while I was only in my bra from last night

"fuck, do we have to go today?" I groaned

"kinda" Ryder chuckled

"we can stay here and just keep having sex if you just let me skip" I offered

"tempting but Harper would only call your parents like she did last time" he pointed out and I sighed knowing he was right before throwing my sheets off and grabbing his shorts from last night and my shirt

"besides, I have a lunch date with that professor from the college wing" he announced

"the demi goddess?" I asked curious

"no that's next week, this week its...Charlotte she's half mermaid half vampire" he announced while I froze holding the door handle

"you sure you want to go with that combination?" I asked curious. pretty sure there's already stories about mermaids dragging men out to the bottom of the sea, I really don't think he wants to be drained on the way down

"its fine she doesn't bite.... people" he corrected while I only rolled my eyes

"yeah well good luck with that" I said before leaving his room and heading into mine taking a quick hot shower before grabbing my white 'bad bitch' graphic t and red skinny jean before throwing on my red and white converse

once I was done I headed down stairs to the kitchen, I was running a bit late if I wanted to get to school on time, but there was nothing that was going to stop me from eating the left over tuna that I made yesterday.

"oh, alpha your still here" Annabelle said surprised coming into the kitchen

"yeah, had to eat before leaving" I said showing her my tuna sandwich

"looks good" she said eyeing it

"back off lady, you two can go find your own food" I said looking at her small round belly and she pouted. yeah Annabelle was Marcus's mate and there was a bit of conflict when we met each other but after she clearly saw I had no interest in her mate any more she turned out to be cool, if only her mate was as smart as she was

"I know you're the alpha, but do you have to be so mean when I'm with child?" she asked while I rolled my eyes

"your loving that excuse, aren't you?" I asked making her smile

"it comes in handy, so how are things at school?" she asked curious getting food from the fridge

"boring" I sighed

"still no luck with the guys?" she asked curious

"well me and a sprite tried going out for a few days, but he was better off a friend" I waved off

"sorry to hear" she said apologetic while I only shrugged before noticing the time

"I gotta go before I get burned" I announced leaving the room only for Marcus to walk in

"o-oh alpha....and Annabelle" he said looking awkward while I rolled my eyes

'I'm sorry about him' Annabelle apologized

"I'm leaving the Marcus you have nothing to worry about" I said walking past him

"I-it's not like I'm worried its just-" he started but I stopped paying attention to him only thinking about the hell I was going to be faced with today
