Chapter 25: Missed Call

iris pov

I sat down in my office doing pack work along with harper when I suddenly got a call and checked to see that it was milo

"what is it?" I answered

"hi iris. I just got an offer to be in a movie" milo said sounding excited

"a movie huh?" I asked not liking the sound of that

"uh huh the man said that it pays well, I get to meet lots of people and if I don't like it the secret word is red isn't that-"

"don't take the job" I groaned punching the bridge of my nose

"b-but he said that I could be famous on the internet"

"I'll explain when you get back just. do not take that job alright" I told him and he sighed

"alright" he said before i hung up and put my phone down getting back to work

"......so, he only acts like that around you huh?" harper asked

"and Gwen" I answered. she could at least know that much about Milo

"huh, you think you know a guy after all the girls he slept with" she shrugged

"so, when do you think he'll find a job?"

"don't know and don't really care" I shrugged. it's been about two months since milo has started his job hunting and so far, he was coming up with nothing. me and Gwen keep telling him that he doesn't need to find one but for some reason he seems so focused on getting this job. I have no idea what he's going to buy with the money he earns but I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be too expensive for either of us to get him

"......you say that but you spend a lot of time with him" harper pointed out and I sighed

"if you haven't noticed my grades have been improving as of late right?"

"yeah"

"Gwen and Easton are actually really smart with school. I do homework and study with them I get better grade, you happy with that explanation?" I asked and she rolled her eyes

"yes, I'm sorry" she apologized before letting us get back to work

"but you could at least tell me your best friend ever what he is right?" she asked and I groaned trying to focus on work

the rest of the day seemed to go by slowly with just me doing random work from school just so I could maintain most of my grades, as it was now they were near perfect thanks to milo, tutor wise he was good....... and I'd be lying if I said that little brat didn't make me a little happy, but out of nowhere the scent of blood reached me and I soon found myself running downstairs only to be meet with a wounded pack member

"a-alpha. t-they took him" the girl announced looking at me before passing out in someone's arm. There was blood all over her clothes which were also torn to sherds from what seemed to be claw marks

"what happened?"

"it looks like she was attacked while she was out with her mate and they took him" Ryder announced

"she was attacked this close to the pack house?!"

"it seems so" Ryder confessed and the others were about to take the girl away but I first went over to her inhaling her scent getting every shred of it before smelling the scent of a wolf who didn't belong in my pack and growled

"it's Tristan" I said through gritted teeth. Tristan was of the stupid alpha trio and by far the most annoying, sure there was still Richard and Lucas but Tristan was the one who would always send me these looks as if he could do anything and get away with it, but that's not going to happen
