Chapter 21: Meeting The Family

iris pov

I felt myself falling into the dept. of the pool while trying to scream and grab onto something to keep me above water, but only took in more water. I was so scared that I was going to die when suddenly I felt a pair of arms around me and I was soon breathing in air clinging to whatever had me while coughing out water

"are you ok iris?" milo asked looking at me worried

"wh-what the hell you said you'd teach me and you leave me to fucking drown" I exclaimed

"I was checking you form down below, you were doing well till you started to panic" he announced

"why am I even here?" I exclaimed looking to see I was in 13 feet right now

"swimming is a form of movement. where did you think you were going to go with that baby stroke" Gwen asked sarcastically but now definitely wasn't a good time to say that to me

"get me out" I demanded looking at milo

"but we just-" he started

"I almost fucking died just get me out of this pool now" I shouted not caring if he looked hurt

"......ok" he said and I thought he'd just go to the side

"hold your breath" he instructed me and I went wide eyed about to protest, but only took in a breath when saw he was already going to dive

I was under water. I was scared as hell as I felt us moving and clung only milo holding my breath

"you should at least open your eyes iris" I heard confusing me so I opened my eyes to look around only to see the bottom of the pool. I've been in aquariums before and even in this little underwater walk way while I was on a date, but being underwater submerged yourself was something else. my eyes stung a little bit cause of the chlorine, but the view was worth it. everything looked so beautiful while the sun was coming in through the windows illuminating the pool

I then heard a noise and turned my head to see Gwen underwater. her long black hair flowing freely as she swam near us sending a smirk at me like she knew what I was thinking. but I only stared at her for a while looking at how weightless she looked in the water before I noticed shimmering in the water and I back up a little off milo, but still held onto him to look down at his tail only to be stunned at how it looked propelling us through the water moving up and down gracefully in the water shimmering with the sunlight I've never seen anything like it. I mean I've seen a mermaid, even under water once, but seeing their tails from underwater was breathtaking luckily just as I was about to run out of breath milo came back up to the surface

"did you at least see how it looked?" milo asked while I was silent for a while thinking about what o just saw

"what's wrong iris" I heard and looked to see Gwen was right in the part of the water where we just were

"nothing...... I don't want to swim anymore.... but if you just take me around again I guess it'll be fine" I announced feeling a little shame for saying it like that but I really wanted to see his tail underwater again

"I can do that" milo announced before swimming back towards the deeper end grinning ear to ear

"hold your breath"

hours later we were still at Gwen's pool and I had to say it might have been the most fun that I've had in a while. I mean I still wasn't swimming and was kind of just using milo as my personal underwater taxi, but it was still amazing to just be underwater and look around. the best part being that since milo could miniplate water so well he made small figures with them that only enhanced the underwater scenery. even Gwen looked like she was having fun just swimming around with us, I never knew the goth could have such a nice smile till now
