Chapter 11: Too Late

iris pov

"hi iris" Easton said smiling. right now he was currently surrounded by five giant burly humans who obviously looked like they were in the army or....... from the smell of wolfs bane a hunter association. he had that stupid smile on his face carrying his book in one hand while waving the other

"Easton.... what are you doing here?" I groaned rubbing my face

"I was reading in the food court when your friends said that you were here and wanted to see me out back. they said you had something important to say, I'll listen to what you have to say if you want" he announced while I stared at him

"Easton do those guys look like people I'd know?" I asked and he turned around looking up at the giants who were even taller than me.

"yes" he answered with a smile. should I feel insulted?

'I do' my wolf announced upset

"Easton I don't know these people. their obviously hunters" I stressed

"so...... you didn't want to tell me something?" he asked looking upset just before one of the hunters grabbed him putting a knife to his throat making him drop his book

"that's enough talking you two monsters" one of the man sneered

"what do you want?" I sighed looking at the fish, I can't believe he was caught so easily

"your alpha iris smith right. the wolf who's currently close to becoming the werewolf queen?" the leader asked

"yeah"

"then we want you to stand right there and watch as we kill your boyfriend and your next" he declared

"he's not my boyfriend" I clarified

"why do you want to hurt iris?" Easton asked only making the human bring the knife closer to his throat

"cause the more of your sick kind that dies the better it'll be for the rest of us humans" the man announced looking like he was about to make the cut right at Easton's jugular and I sighed before rushing to them kicking the human away and into a pole denting it and knocking him out

"w-what the-" one of them started

"wait here" I ordered Easton before flipping to dodge a slash with a silver dagger and kicked the human in the neck knocking him out while the other human tried getting his gun out but I only kicked it in the air before slapping him, catching the gun and then hitting him with the butt knocking him out before throwing the gun at the leaders face and quickly going to the other guy upper cutting him before bringing him back down and punching him hard enough to send him into their van. hunters take a drug that makes them more durable so this amount of damage was fine

"y-you can't-" the leader started on the floor trying to get up but I only kicked his head knocking him out

"w-wow" I heard before looking at Easton who was standing there looking at me amazed

"you're really strong" he noticed and I sighed

"Easton I really don't think we should talk anymore" I announced

"because of the hunters? its ok I don't-" he started but I finally had enough

"no Easton its not because of the hunters it's because you're driving me crazy alright. I said that I wanted to be friends with you but that was a lie to be completely honest your annoying as fuck and I just want you to leave me alone" I exclaimed

"I won't tell you dumb secret but if we're being honest....... I just want you out of my life" I sighed not caring if I sounded bitchy and he stood there for a moment just as I started to hear thunder clouds rolling in and he chuckled
