Chapter 43: You Can't Have Him!

Iris pov

"Yes, I know its nerve wracking not to know what exactly your luna is, but I promise nothing bad is going to happen" I said reassuring the alpha from brazil who just wouldn't let go of what happened with milo a few days ago

"Promises aren't going to cut it alpha, I have people here who are scared about what's going on. Some even think your mate might be the end of the pack" the alpha announced making me growl

"Well than why don't you make a list with those people's names and send it to me, so I can make sure they understand that my mate isn't some kind of monster, hes your luna!" I shouted before throwing my phone at the wall pissed off "fucking assholes"

"...so, I should order another phone then?" harper asked from her chair staring at the broken pieces on the ground

"I'm sorry" I groaned as I tried to calm down taking deep breathes

"I know what you're going through, but iris that's the fifth phone today" harper pointed out while I only sighed as I leaned back in my chair exhausted

I told milo that I would take care of all the questions that the pack members had about him, but it was turning out to be even more difficult than I thought. Pack members everywhere were actually scared of milo, the cute little merman who looked like he was about to cry when I drove him to Gwen's house for a Saw movie marathon.

If I could just tell them what he was I know everyone would be fine with it, but I doubt milo even wanted them to know that he was a merman... maybe I could lie and say hes a water sprite or something

'He's as cute as a fairy, but he can't fly' diamond pointed out

'Are we sure about that?' I asked, and she was about to argue till she realized that we couldnt be sure of anything when it comes to milo other than the fact that hes our mate and he loves us

"Aren't mates supposed to make your life easier?" I asked looking back at harper who only scoffed

"They are, but they don't tell you some of the bad comes along with having a mate" she declared looking annoyed

"Who woke you up on the wrong side of the bed?" I asked curious

"The puppy jay got last night" she declared while I only sighed while shaking my head looking at my jealous best friend

"If it bugs you that much just-" I started

'Alpha we have a prob-' Ryder suddenly said through the link before getting cut off while there was a sudden clap of thunder making me look out the window to see a thunderstorm rolling in

"Was it supposed to rain today?" I asked confused turning to harper who shook her head worrying me

"Fuck" I cursed before rushing out the pack house running ahead off all the pack members who were all ready for a fight, but I needed to get there before any of them, I had to make sure that my mate was the target

...but if milo really is attacking the pack what am I supposed to do?

'Think about that later!' diamond shouted even more anxious than I was as we ran through the forest towards Ryder location only once we got there I found myself screeching to a halt

Standing in the middle of a small clearing was thankfully not my loving mate, but instead I found a man who was a man holding a giant spear and around eleven women who were all standing at his side while Ryder along with a couple of my guards laid down on the ground unconscious

"Who the hell are you?" I asked glaring at the man

He was tall even from where I was standing and surprisingly muscular for someone his age, his head full of silver hair which told me that he was at least in his late fifty or early sixty's but with the muscle that was defined enough to show through his shirt he looked like he was still in his prime.
