Chapter 38: How Many?

Iris pov

"So, to recap you want to install an indoor Olympic size pool and a moat, but you also want the moat to be accessible to people who want to swim?" uncle ray asked as I sat at my desk using skype

"Yes, also when we get there none of the chiefs are allowed to cook fish, Easton doesn't like it" I pointed out looking at my uncles confused face

"Ok, that's a little more understandable, but since when were you such a big fan of water, if I remember correctly you once told me swimming was for the fishes" he said still confused while I couldnt help but smile

"Yes, and it still is but living in Florida has....... Enlightened me of a few things. You can get everything done by the time we get there right?" I asked, and my uncle sighed before smiling

"Well if that's the price to get my family back together I don't really have a choice do I" he said making me smile

"Thank you, i'll talk to you soon" I said before he waved, and I ended the call before leaning back in my seat sighing deeply

"Alpha" harper sang making me groan

"I know I know...... back to work" I said annoyed looking at the large piles of papers that were stacked on my table

Thanks to milo becoming my luna there has been request from all over the world from alphas wanting to pay their respects and not only that, but since I took time off to be with milo there was a backup in work so the work never seemed to end. the only good thing that has happened in the past week has been the strange but much appreciated silence from alpha Richard and the fact that seniors didn't have to attend school anymore. I somehow managed to graduate

"There has to be a better method to getting this work done" I groaned as I skimped through a pack reports.

"Well if there is, I still haven't found it...... You know jay actually talked to me about getting a dog?" harper declared as she stamped her sheets of paper

"What's wrong with that? you love dogs. you've been talking about getting a puppy for years"

"Yeah after i have kids, but if jay wants a dog now that means he must be lonely right? And after all the late nights we've been pulling I can't blame him"

"Yeah well at least you don't have to deal with milo" I sighed depressed

"......he asked you again this morning?" she asked while I nodded thinking about the upset look on his face

For the past week now milo has been asking me if I was going to be free before I left for work with harper, but i've been having to tell him no every single time and with each no i've had to see his upset expression over and over again. And to make it worse when I asked the others if there was a reason why milo was asking me the question Annabelle said that he was apparently thinking about where we should go on our first date

Goddess I hate paper work

"This is the last fucking time I skip work after making an announcement" I declared annoyed

"Agreeed" harper groaned just before the door was opened

"Alp- Ryder started

"I swear to god if you have more paperwork with you, i'll burry you six feet under" harper exclaimed taking Ryder by surprise turning to me

"It better not be paperwork"

"I-it's not, I just wanted to tell you Easton left" he announced getting my attention

"Why? With who?" I demanded while diamond was on edge making me more nervous

"Marcus and Annabelle. He had some things to buy and they offered him a ride....... There's also a couple guards watching over him from afar just in case" he declared while I fell back in my seat sighing in relief. At least I know where he is
